Fabulous market. So much to see, smell, taste, hear and see! A band was playing, the stall holders were very friendly, vibrant colours of food & textiles, different herbs, vegetables and SO much food to try. Everything we tried was delicious. Make sure you go there hungry, you won’t be disappointed. Starts around 3pm on Sunday.

Bang Niang Market is located in the center of Bang Niang which again is in the center of the Khao Lak area. The market is open Monday , Wednesday , Thursday and Saturday from 14:00 till 22:00. Be prepared for the wonderful and thrilling fresh and local street food which you will think about when you are hungry while you are back home. If you come for a couple of hours in the early evening you arrive when the market is most exciting and buzzing with activities. There are many stalls selling souvenirs, T-Shirts and local handmade handicraft. In the street food section you can find skewers, spring rolls, seafood, and many other kinds of fresh Thai food. In the produce section you can find many well-known fruits and vegetables as well as produce you can only find in Thailand.
The market offers a wide variety of Thai street food. Everything from chicken skewers to stir fried insects. The atmosphere is friendly and I felt safe during my visit. If you want to buy something from the sale stalls, make sure you haggle over the price. All in all an enjoyable evening.

Flea Market on Wednesday's afternoon and evening
Went here late Sunday arvo and loved it. Heaps of freshly cooked bits and pieces and oh so tasty. Cheapest and best variety around. Actually got one of the best mojitos for 60baht ($3 aus) I've had over here and we've tried heaps. And seriously, treat yourself and try the 'expensive' pork belly for 120 baht or 6 bucks that they cook in the big barrels. Best I've ever tasted and once again I've tried heaps. Only complaint is I couldn't get back there to try the ribs due to tours and daughters birthday (where I had to eat the resort buffet). If only I had 1 more day. BTW open late arvos (around 3pm) Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Enjoy
