Saija Lodge is situated in Northeast-Finland, by the Lake Jokijärvi. Beside our hotel services we also offer guided activities all year round: In summer (June-September): hiking, fat-biking, canoeing, lake/river fishing, husky-trekking. In winter (December-April): 1-2 day husky safaris, snowmobile safaris, cross-country skiing, fat-biking, snowshoeing, ice-fishing. We also rent sports equipment.

Jalavan Kauppa is the oldest shop in Finland. Located in the heart of Taivalkoski, this 19th century shop and traveller’s cafe is open for visitors all year round. Services include guided tours, salt room treatments, exhibitions, concerts, workshops and other special events.

Pyhitys is highest point is Taivalkoski and it is situated in Syote national park. Trail to the top is 1 km. Trail is pretty rocky and steep on some parts. It is not suitable for the disabled and and you have to be in reasonable condition. It is recommended that you will park your on the Ahmaselkosentie. Road on the last 800 m to the bottom of the hill is suitable only for SUV´s and off-road cars.

Soiperoinen is beautiful and relaxing nature. There is short trails on sand ridges and surrounded by crystal clear lakes. There is also several places for camp fire.
5. Backwoods Husky
Winter wilderness adventures with friendly and eager huskies. In the summer time kennel-visits and hikings with the huskies. Accommodation in the guesthouse.
