The basic one-hour tour with friends was, we all thought, fascinating and informative. While the “wee dram” at the end of the tour was nice, the information about the making of Glenmorangie’s lovely whiskies was worth the (very scenic) trip out from Inverness. At least two of us left hoping to come back another time for one of the longer tours.

First, Jason was awesome! He is so knowledgeable and eager to share. We were traveling with someone whose ancestor was born here in the 1600’s and he was enthralled to have the chance to learn so much about his Ross family. There is an ancient small church, a graveyard with graves going back to Viking times and a small museum. Definitely a must see.

Tucked away in the ancient heart of the Highlands, you’ll find Balblair distillery where we have been crafting our whisky since 1790. At Balblair, we take great pride in what we do. We want to share it with the world, not only through our malts themselves but by letting people see behind the scenes at our distillery. You can explore our buildings, meet the makers, learn how we craft our malts and enjoy a taste or two of our whiskies, from the very place it was born. We offer two levels of distillery tour, and you can book online via our website. VISITOR CENTRE OPENING HOURS APRIL - SEPTEMBER Monday - Friday: 10am - 5pm Saturday: 10am - 4pm OCTOBER - MARCH Monday - Friday: 10am - 4pm
Simply excellent insight into whisky production on a non-industrial scale!!!! 1st class presentation. Definitely re-visting in 2020 ;-)
