What to do and see in Sydney, New South Wales: The Best Cultural Tours

March 4, 2022 Emerita Lamoureux

Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavor. The marvelous Sydney Opera House looks like a great origami sailboat, floating peacefully in a harbor. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of The Rocks and then take in a street performance on the Circular Quay before heading into the Museum of Contemporary Art. The views from the Sydney Tower Eye observatory are epic – use this chance to get to know the layout of the city from high above.

We had a tour with Brent. Not only was the tour enlightening, it was inspirational, as we learned about how the Maori view life. Brent brought to life how Maoris lived in the 18th and 19th centuries, and maybe as important how they live and what they believe today. The tour was truly unique, providing not only information, but inspiration.

We loved the knowledge that Robyn had about the area and the water bottles offered are great idea . Perhaps knowing that I would have to cut some of the tastings to share proper knife and plate would have been helpful understandable COVID times ,not sure what could have been sorted ....? We also felt seeing we are Australian and the only people on the tour perhaps vegemite toast wasn’t the the best idea , but I understand for I international tourists would love it ... We were asked about allergies and unfortunately she had forgotten so my husband missed out on the Thai prawns . If I knew we were going to wait I would have ordered a wine whilst waiting in some situations .

On the 'DISCOVER THE ROCKS' tour we will visit the picturesque historic district The rocks on foot. This is the birthplace of modern Australia, and any tour of the country should start here. We are going to know together, in a very dynamic and close way, how the first convicts got here and the interests that the British crown had to create a penal colony on the other side of the world. We will walk through its streets and our hair will stand on end when we know the living conditions of this first settlement. We have tons of fun anecdotes and we will analyze the two great projects that have put Sydney on the map, the Harbor Bridge and The Opera House. This tour was born from the head of a couple of friends; an official guide and an architect, with a passion for storytelling. We feel that Sydney is our home and we want you to join us in discovering it. We assure you that this tour is the best thing that will happen to you in Australia for not knowing English.
