Basel Autumn Fair

Covering almost the whole city, the Autumn fair is one of the oldest fairs in Switzerland. It’s a special time full of pleasure and fascination celebrating autumn season and harvest with great food, wines, arts and crafts and rides on merry-go-rounds! Make sure you visit an enhanced set of the fair in the Messe Basel - Fressmeile, a magical fair stand with delightful local cuisine. Amusement rides, sport competitions, street theatre plays and more to come during the festive days.

Visited one of the Autumn fairground spots in Basel with my family. Nice and friendly atmosphere, lots of happy faces and a very good and safe place to be. Lots of stalls offering a large diversity of foods, sweets and mullet wine. Good choice of attractions to try if you're brave enough. Recommended especially if you go there with your kids or even alone or with your partner.

Weihnachts Und Christchindli-Mart

Reviewed By hansnyc1 - New York City, United States

The biggest, and nicest Christmas Market in Switzerland is held every first weekend in December. Visitors can stroll through the car-free old town, look forward to the lavishly decorated stands of the exhibitors, and benefit from the wide range of goods on offer. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, take advantage of the wide range of concerts in the Zeughaussaal, in the "Märt-Chile" (Market Church) or in the Klösterli (little Cloister). Romantics can take a seat in a horse drawn coach and drive around Bremgarten in a fairytale way. Drink some mulled wine or punch and eat some local offerings on various stands. The Samichlaus (Santa Claus), the petting zoo, pony rides are very popular among the little ones.
