We enjoyed our visit and mine tour. Very good guides that relate the history of the mine and minerals. We spent about 2 hours here including the tour.

Took the mansion/estate tour with a guide -- wonderful decorations inside and much fascinating history. House associated with Finn family (of Senator William Finn fame). Tudor style mansion with English gardens. Beautifully furnished.

Sussex County Sunflower Maze

Usually open Mid August thru Mid September while the sunflowers are in bloom. Each year the dates change plus or minus a few weeks depending on mother nature and how the flowers grow. We are the premier Agri-tourism destinaton for sunflowers on the East Coast. We are a family farm and strive to meet each guest. On busy weekends we pay to have the NJ State Police help with traffic and parking. We have multiple fields in various stages of bloom and most of our farm is not visible from the parking lot. We created the 1st Sunflower Maze 10 years ago and a grateful for all the loyal supporters and wonderful people we have met.

For a Covid era day trip,a drive to the Sussex county sunflower maze is highly recommended and safe.We went with little children and we all enjoyed walking within the maze of sunflowers as far as our eyes could see.Entrance was $10 for adults and $5 for children above 4 years old. Picking your own sunflower was not allowed and I was highly disappointed.Sunflowers and bouquets were sold at the stall .I bought a bag of seeds to hopefully replicate a mini sunflower patch in my yard next summer. It was a gorgeous place to walk around for at least a couple of hours. There was ample parking in the field. There was a line of portable toilets for your convenience.Masking was recommended in areas where we were close to other people.Out in the open, we took our masks off to enjoy the clean air of rural Sussex County. We took plenty of pictures-all of them fantastic and breathtaking. The season is short so take the time to go .You won’t regret it .
