My husband and I enjoyed an excellent vineyard tour and tasting session this morning at the Albury Organic Vineyard in the beautiful Surrey Hills - would highly recommend. NB the vineyard has it’s own car-parking separate to the main car-parking off the Shere Road. Dominic gave the tour to the group this morning, focusing on ‘biodynamics’ within organic viticulture, which we were fascinated to learn about. So many interesting facts and a fabulous view from the top of the vineyard - so lovely to be out and walking through the vines. You can even get involved and volunteer to help out with the harvest in late Sep/Oct. Afterwards we enjoyed a well organised, outdoor and under-cover wine tasting session managed by Dominic and Alex and we sampled four wines: a rose, two sparkling and a vermouth - delicious. After the tasting we were able to visit the open-air bar to buy refreshments and to buy bottles to take home - which we did! As part of our booking we had pre-purchased an ‘afternoon tea box’ which we enjoyed back at our table in the tasting area. ‘Loos for Dos’ cubicles are on-site for your comfort and the team have worked hard to deliver a ‘COVID-secure’ operation which was much appreciated, yet in no way over-shadowed the enjoyment of the event - well done all round and thank you for a lovely morning. See you again. Patricia & Philip Chappell, Crowthorne

Visit the famous hedge maze, Tudor knot garden and the state apartments at this splendid red-brick Tudor Palace, which is set in formal gardens and open parkland along the Thames River.
I've always wanted to visit Hampton Court Palace And It exceeded my expectations It's truly amazing It's Tudor and Baroque architecture are both equally wonderful, the gardens are beautiful you can easily spend a whole day wondering around and still not see it all. When we arrived which was at 9.15 they had just lit the fire in the kitchens (you could smell the smoke wafting over the East front gardens) you can go in and look around the front gardens at 9 am the roses smelt lovely at that time of the morning and we even saw some wild Parakeets flying around. When we we went we where lucky enough to go when you could meet Henry viii and interview a couple of his wives listening to the actors playing them was very interesting and really enjoyable, and it was a pleasure talking to the guides in the rooms of the palace their knowledge about the history of the place was enjoyable to listen to, it was the same talking to the people in the kitchens finding out what life was like working in a Tudor kitchen, Hampton court palace is well worth a visit and I would go back again.

Polesden Lacey is a National Trust gem with spectacular (& evolving) formal and natural gardens as well as a well presented insight into a early twentieth century country house. Entrance is £15 pp or free to NT members. Guided tours are available of the house in the morning before allowing free flow entry after 1230 whilst the gardens are open at all times with tours available at 1130, 1245, & 1415 Originally built by the Scottish brewer, William McEwan it became the country home of Maggie Greville, one of the premier socialites of the early twentieth century who counted royalty and prime ministers amongst her friends and guests. The gardens alone are worth the visit and are spectacularly laid out. We thoroughly enjoyed the garden tour and would recommend it. The house is also beautifully presented and easy to navigate. The volunteers in each room were as always helpful and interesting. The porcelain & art on display on the ground floor is well worth enjoying. It is easy to see how Polesden Lacey was one of the most popular “house parties” for those lucky enough to be invited. We ended our tour with lunch at the Cowshed Cafe in the courtyard which offers a range of options. Unfortunately however McEwans beer is not available on the menu!

My husband and I have just returned from Pennyhill Park where we visited the spa on both days. The spa is lovely, has lots of different rooms and areas with a variety of things on offer. We did the Rasual treatment which was really unique and fun/ enjoyable. The outdoor areas are lovely, we used the outdoor hot tubs but didn’t venture to the outside pool as it wasn’t quite warm enough for this time of the year. The changing rooms are also fantastic, with amazing jet showers and lots of facilities and products on offer. Staff are very attentive and accommodating to your needs. Would highly recommend this to others to visit. My only improvement would be slightly quicker service on the drinks within the spa areas themselves, perhaps more staff but other than that it was a lovely and enjoyable visit.

A friend had recommended The Sculpture Park to me and so it was on my list for this summer. What an extraordinary place to visit. It is situated opposite a gorgeous pub which is great as the park itself has no cafe. The pub is therefore a good option for coffee or lunch and it is possible to leave the trail round the park and stop for a drink and then restart when you are ready. So, important things to know - a) the car parking is quite limited outside the park. b) on arrival it is essential to go straight to the Reception hut to pay your entrance fee and collect the booklet which provides you with a map showing how to follow the three trails around the park. c) Although it is not a long walk (approx 2 miles) the terrain is uneven and there are lots of steps, narrow walkways and bridges and so sturdy shoes are a must. If you have mobility issues it would be worth checking access arrangements before you visit. d) the booklet provided gives the numbers of each sculpture, the sculptor, the name of the piece, the price and the material it is made from. The tour around the park uses each numbered sculpture as a guide to your location. e) The park is suitable for children and dogs are allowed if they are kept on a short lead. f) There are several places where you can stop for a picnic; either in one of the Thai huts or in the gravelled picnic area where there are tables. g) Much of the park is in shade so even on the sunniest of days you might need to bring a jumper. h) there are toilets on site and they are really nice and clean. As for the park itself it is a wonderful showcase of the weird and wonderful. Most are for sale. There are amazing pieces that make you gasp with wonder or recoil with horror. All will amaze and with a selection of about 800 sculptures you will need at least 2.5 - 3 hrs (not including lunch) to see it all. For a modest entry fee this is a great place to visit. There is no gift shop as such but there are indoor exhibits too. Make sure you see the dragon, the tank, the polar bears, the huge tarantula and the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse (creepy!). There is so much to see here and explore. Look once and then look again to see what you’ve missed and enjoy!

Visited Clubrooms at the south terminal and was looked after by Tom for the evening. Tom was extremely professional and seemed passionate about his job, making chat with everyone in the lounge. It’s an intimate lounge which really adds to the experience. The food and beverages on offer were great , recommend the smoked trout and makhani curry on offer! Our glasses were topped up all night and I’d have no hesitations coming back. Really pleased after the mixed reviews online

Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our table, the lounge was almost full which i found surprising at 7am! Prosecco was brought over swiftly and topped up throughout our time here! We both had porridge and also a full English and you could help yourself to teas coffees and croissants etc. Joan and Theresa fully looked after us. Thank you!
