Learn about Francis Marion and a famous Civil War battle--all while listening to the birds and enjoying this lovely area. Indian relics, Lake Marion, wildlife exhibits, hiking trails, birdwatching and more are available. My young grandson and I had a picnic, learned a lot and had a wonderful time.

Spent an hour just riding through the park and checking out the facilities. Good representation of the local landscape. Beautiful and serene.Campground located on lake is definitely doable.

We played this course on March 20th, 2015. The course is in excellent shape, the personnel could not be friendlier. We played an additional 18 holes and two played an additional 9 on top of the 36. They did not charge for the play after 36. Greens were very good but hard to read. Course was very wet; 36 holes with cart path only about wore us out. Definitely a must play course if you are in the Santee/Manning area.

This little museum is tucked away on the main street through Elloree. There is a gift shop attached with books, clothing, and gifts. The museum includes numerous exhibits recreating stores from bygone times that were located on the main street. The items in each came from these stores. There are replicas from the pharmacy, clothing stores as well as the post office and dentist office. There is a log cabin in the back. There is also a display of a cotton gin. Kids can see baskets of raw cotton. There's a tractor and other older farm equipment around the room. Upstairs there are exhibits with lots of photos of old families in the area. There are class photos from the school. There is a room dedicated to Chris Antley, a native of Elloree who rode race horses in the Triple Crown races. The museum may look small, but there is a lot to see.

We took an early morning tour on the day of the eclipse. What an amazing start to a special day! Jimmy and Rick really do love their job and are both very knowledgable. Lake Marion is a magical place but without their expert guidance it would not have been anywhere close to as fascinating as we found it to be. This tour is an absolute must for visitors to the area.

While vacationing in Santee, SC, we took a drive to Elloree about 6 miles away. We found the neatest attraction--a teapot museum. There are over 3,000 teapots from all over the world on display. Some are categorized by Noah's Ark, the President's Corner, The Bridal and more. It is open on Wednesday thru Friday 11 til 5. The owners have been collecting for over 20 years, They are a delightful couple who love to talk about their teapots. It was a charming adventure for both of us. Visit and you won't be disappointed!

We have stopped in this store every year and sometimes twice a year since the mid 80s when we started driving to Florida for vacation. They treat us very well on fireworks and their homemade pralines are the very best. We also enjoy their many choice of fudge. Our favorite staff person was Pete who knew the fireworks inside out and made the best recommendations. Pete is now retired, but the new staff work hard to answer all questions.

My golf crew came to Santee for a weekend golf weekend. The Lake Marion Golf Course was a very enjoyable course to play. Very beautiful and well maintained greens. Fairways are wide but challenging. The employees were all so very helpful and nice. All carts have GPS which was a nice feature. Loved playing this course and look forward to playing it again soon

I've seen these art masterpieces for three years, but am just now finally realizing that they are part of a full tour. There are 13 historical murals near downtown Manning. A scout troup could actually turn this into a hike activity.
Murals depict
* Pond Bluff
* St. Stephen's Church
* Half-Way Swamp
* The Swamp Fox
* Reflections
* Marion Statue
* Ox Swamp
* Citizen Soldier
* Wyboo Swamp
* Marion Militia Needs
Most of these can even be enjoyed on a rainy day.
Read more about the Swamp Fox and Francis Marion Trail in your history book.
