I just finished climbing Singgalang Mountain. Singgalang is a mountain in front of gunung marapi. Singgalang is a very natural mountain with great views along the way. especially in the moss forest and telaga dewi a very beautiful lake at the top of the mountain. this time we were accompanied with a very professional guide. the name is Fajar of ambasador trekking. Fajar and his team are very good people with very nice personalities. for the food menu prepared for us vegetarians is very tasty and prepared according to our request. what we will never forget is the kawa daun coffee serve by fajar. We will come back to try hiking at marapi mountain of course with mr Fajar. My girlfriend and I visited Mount Kerinci during February of 2019. Our guide was Endatno Een. He was mentioned on the tripadvisor page multiple times and came highly recommended. And rightfully so. Afer contacting Endatno he basically managed our entire trip for us by giving us advice on how to reach Kerinci, where to stay and so on. We were quite worried about the weather back then as we had heard that weather conditions during that time of year are often not perfect and the weather can change quite fast. Endatno gave us a realistic assessment of the situation though and encouraged us to do the hike even though we might get wet. For that we are grateful because the hike itself was amazing even though we did get wet (like extremely wet) on the way down. The reason why the hike was so great for us was the vegetation that changed with each stage of the mountain, the chance to see some rare animals as well as the specacular view from the summit area. When the sky cleared you were able to see the Kerinci valley other mountain areas and even the ocean at the horizon. The hike itself was not extremely easy but definetly manageable as we are not experienced hikers and only somewhat sporty. It was important to have Endatno though as he and his colleague carried the supplies and the tent and you definetly need a guide for directions. All in all the hike on Mount Kerinci made for an unforgettable experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great experience off the beaten track to give it a try. And give Endatno a call. With him you got the right guide! Cheers.

Its a nice place to see the dolphin. We use "jukung" to see the dolphin. Jukung seems like a manual boat. You will get so many dolphins there

Renting a scooter is by far the easiest option. There is a place next to the Sibayak Cafe (you cannot miss the gigantic sign) in the centre of Berastagi where you can rent them. By scooter there are two places I recommend you to go to. First, to the deserted village of Suka Nalu. Photos of the red zone you find online (abandoned school etc) were taken here. From there you can walk along a "road" that is overgrown. In dry season I think you can cross the small river at the end of it, so that you can see the dead forest and lava stream. However, we didn't manage to cross the river due to high water. Afterwards, ride to the ghost town called Gurukinayan. Here you can see the lava stream and also walk over it for a while. Great up close view of the vulcano as well. I would not recommend trying to walk from the first to the second place, because there are cliffs/small canyons carved out by the lava that you would have to cross and they seemed too treacherous to climb in and out of. You can also get to the first place by bus. Take the orange "Rio" bus (it brought us pretty close) and walk the last part.
