For an inland town, miles away from the sea, Stourport on Severn has a surprising and delightful maritime atmosphere. It was once a busy inland port, which grew up around the point where the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal joins the River Severn. Today the restored canal basins are a great place to discover the history of the Stourport and the River Severn.
We had a lovely walk around the basin all very well kept lots to see , there’s a nice man selling coffee from his Narrow boat we then walked round the side of the River Severn and stopped at the Angel pub a few yards round the corner a beautiful Pub so clean and welcoming with a nice log fire , we sat outside and had a tea for 4 people then walked along the river Severn and across the field at the back of Tesco, Great walk

We love Cooks Garden Centre. We purchase lots of plants throughout the seasons and always go to them for all our Christmas decorations: swags, wreaths & baubles etc. Fabulous ranges, very knowledgable and friendly team, whether at home, in their nursery or at Hampton Court. We thoroughly recommend their beautiful Hydrangeas (we've just bought 12 more) and a new surprise was Viola: Columbine, with the most exquisite scent: Fabulous

Lovely place to walk the dog with lots of trails. Just wish other people would keep their dogs on a lead and clean up after them !

Visit occasionally and last time went to view the poppy fields. Views of them were excellent. Did not realise they covered such a large area with the safari park and Severn Valley Railway behind. My wife got some good photos. The reserve itself is mainly woodland with some open areas. Good paths. Information about the American hospital which was on the site in WW2 and a small memorial. Little now remains but some walls and old roadways still exist in the trees. Car park is small but rarely busy. However the poppy display caused some problems. Worth a visit.
