Carved into the natural sandstone cliffs, the intriguing network of underground tunnels offers visitors an unparalleled insight into life in wartime Britain in the 1940's. Visitors have the opportunity of learning about the experiences of local people during the war from the displays in the tunnels and from the state-of -the-art audio-guides and to find mementos of the 1940's in our shop.

Very interesting medieval house with a great personal audio guide with lots of interesting information. Kitchen, bedroom storerooms all set up with furniture, staircase and in places the old 1460 walls. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Museum next door is interesting too, local history and an exhibition of strawberry recording studios. Allow a couple of hours for both, museum free house £3.75 for concessions.

What a great insight into Stockports past, the staff are very friendly and helpful giving you lots of information about the dungeons, for a small place to visit it was very interesting, it is also free admission, but you can donate, Not sure about the other reviews mentioning food there is definitely no food at this site, but various food options close by, i would certainly visit again.

Bramall Hall, owned by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, is a superb example of a Tudor Manor House with origins dating back to the Middle Ages. The Hall, one of the most beautiful treasures of England, is of great national importance. The magnificent 16th Century wall paintings, striking Elizabethan plaster ceiling, the Victorian Kitchens and Servants’ Quarters give this Hall its unique charm. The Hall stands in 70 acres of parkland designed in the Victorian Romantic style. It offers woodland walks with intriguing glimpses of the Hall itself and of the brooks and lakes. The Stables Kitchen is an independent business located in Bramhall Park but is not owned by Stockport MBC. Bramall Hall offers guided tours, school visits and is used as a wedding and private function venue.
First visit and how delightful. The parkland is superb. The cafe and shop are excellent. The gem is the Hall itself. Brilliant value at just £5 per adult. The interior is exceptional with very informative notices in the rooms. Very lucky to see the Christmas decorations- these were better than most I’ve ever seen. The team are friendly as well. A true credit to Stockport Council for maintaining this so well.
