moviESCAPE is Stockport's premier movie themed escape rooms. Built and designed by a team of filmmakers, our escape rooms are designed to put you inside the movies.
Today we visited MoviESCAPE and it's clear to see the venue is run by movie fans who want to bring the magic of the movies into an escape room venue. With theatre style detailed sets the brand new Haunted House II: Demon's Curse maze was intriguing and immersive with a great use of special effects and some thought-provoking puzzles. Whilst it wasn't particularly scary (hence being targeted at ages 12+) the maze provided that immersion into the story and special effects certainly added towards that atmosphere. Almost like a Disney / indie horror crossover at times it was great fun to be inside the room and whilst we didn't escape in the time allotted there was only two of us attempting the room. One puzzle did throw us completely off but the rather cool way of getting a hint and the way in which the hint was delivered was almost pushing me to ask for help on every puzzle as the audio replies gelled with the room so effortlessly. Detailed, immersive and great fun! Would definitely revisit again as the Merlin and Sherlock rooms both look absolutely stunning, i'm a big sucker for theming and other than the more simplistic Meth Lab escape room the other rooms were spot on in detail and immersion.

Carved into the natural sandstone cliffs, the intriguing network of underground tunnels offers visitors an unparalleled insight into life in wartime Britain in the 1940's. Visitors have the opportunity of learning about the experiences of local people during the war from the displays in the tunnels and from the state-of -the-art audio-guides and to find mementos of the 1940's in our shop.

This spectacular flight of sixteen working locks - surrounded by some beautiful wooded countryside and scenic walks - raises the canal 209 feet to reach a height of 518 feet above sea level at Marple.
We walked from Romiley by the canal seeing all kinds of nature. Fish, baby fish, ducks and ducklings, geese and goslings. Lovely to see the aqueduct stunning views, great to see the locks. Stunning views. A lovely walk.

Very interesting medieval house with a great personal audio guide with lots of interesting information. Kitchen, bedroom storerooms all set up with furniture, staircase and in places the old 1460 walls. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Museum next door is interesting too, local history and an exhibition of strawberry recording studios. Allow a couple of hours for both, museum free house £3.75 for concessions.

Lovely park, dam, woods and boating lake. We visit Ethrow park quite frequently and always enjoy it. The wooded area surrounds a central lake so it’s easy to stick to a route without getting lost! Along the boating lake is a quiet path that usually has people fishing and the ducks and geese wander along the path which is nice, the path leads to the dam which is always nice to see. A cafe and little ice cream parlour are situated near the car park for refreshments. It’s a lovely park for walking and we usually find new parts to explore that we haven’t seen before. Highly recommend

Me and the gf had a great tour with Gary, who was super enthusiastic and delivered an awesome and informative tour of the brewery. Picked up a case of old tom on my way out to boot.

a real classic night out, friendly cinema at its best, for only a fiver each, comfy seats, warm cinema, sweets &, drinks & popcorn available from the kiosk, as well as ice cream served at the interval, a great old fashioned cinema showing the latest films.well worth a visit.Parking for a few cars directly outside the cinema. otherwise parking in the asda car park around the side of the cinema, which will take you only a couple of minutes to walk to the cinema.

Great beer, great atmosphere, wish it was a bit bigger but can’t really complain at all. The selection of ales and ciders is always changing so you get the opportunity to try a lot of different beers each week. Loved the sausage rolls and pork pies they sell from the butchers next door. This is how a craft pub should be, so glad it’s my local!
