Although I do plan to walk the entire length of the path I have walked along many sections at various times. Most recently I walked circular routes from Harting, Fulking, Pyecombe, Upper Beeding in West Sussex as well as from Wilmington, Alciston and Firle in East Sussex. All sections have provided climbs up to spectacular views both South towards the sea and North across the Weald. Whichever section you choose you will experience some taxing climbs from sea level in the river valleys and some great viewpoints. It can be a cheap day out if you find a sensible place to leave your car and avoid some of the busy official car parks. Public transport to various jump off points is possible but a little limited in some sections.

This is a beautiful little shop, stacked and packed with myriad treasures and trinkets, a real den of gems. It's the perfect place to pick up a unique present, with an eclectic and constantly changing range of products and gifts, ranging from socks to ceramics, candles to cups, gloves to glass, scarves to scents, jewellery to jugs...and more! Many items are locally crafted, so it is always possible to find something a little different for special occasions, or just to treat yourself. The staff are always friendly, happy to help and equally happy to leave you to browse....one of my favourite shops in the High Street.

The Rally has more than 1200 exhibits in attendance ranging from steam traction engines to vintage vehicles. Also large fun fair with traditional rides and side stands. Around the field there are fascinating displays of buses, tractors, cars, lorries, military vehicles, bicycles and motorcycles. Our Working Area is the place to see a steam powered demonstrations including woodcutting at the saw benches and stationary engines.
Fantastic day out: great organisation of event; lots of room to explore (though very busy never felt overcrowded); exhibits were great (lots and lots to look at); really family friendly (we had a 2, 3, 6 and 11 year olds with us); great value for money. Highlights for us were the steam organs, demonstration from Sussex Logs, and the buses. We’ll definitely return next year.

A beautiful Saxon church. My great grandparents lived in the tiny village of Botolphs in the 1860’s and my grandfather was christened here. The church is beautifully preserved and has original Saxon murals on the walls, a wonderful original font and Jacobean pulpit. The side windows were slanted so people from the leper colony in Bramber could stand outside to watch the vicars sermon. Parts of the outer walls have archways showing where the church was made bigger when the village grew. As the village shrunk the extensions were removed and bricked up. It’s a very peaceful place to visit and a must-see if your passing this way on the South Downs on Annington Road.

Brought my young son for a weekends fishing on the island lake. The fishing was excellent with lots of carp on a ledger and lots of silver fish on the float. Me and my son had a great time and will be returning.the lakes are beautiful. the toilet and shower is very clean and well looked after and the food from the caff was very nice. Cant wait to get back. Chris g.
