A ski town that is also an authentic ranching center, Steamboat Springs is more down home than glitzy. Cowboy hats and ski boots are equally welcome on the city's friendly streets. The place where downhill skiing first flourished in the United States, Steamboat Springs remains a premiere slopes destination. But the town also offers outdoor recreation of every stripe and season. And after a long day hiking, schussing or shopping, you can relax in one of the natural hot springs for which the town was named.

Since we opened our doors in 1990, we have been Steamboat's largest full service bookstore and the locals' favorite meeting place for Good Books, Good Coffee and Good Friends. What about our store? We are a full service, independent bookstore, with extensive collections of current literature, fiction, history and memoirs, young adults. We feature a large children’s collection, and our famous treehouse reading space where our youngest children can escape. Our café serves the best coffee drinks in town, pastries, Big Train drinks, smoothies, soups and salads for lunch, and wine in the evening. We are pleased to be serving Storm Mountain Coffee, roasted locally in Oak Creek.
I visited here with my daughter (then 12 years old) more than 15 years ago, and she still remembers the yummy pastries and the wonderful book selection. We went back again this week (together) and it really hasn’t changed much at all. Be sure to visit the used book section upstairs - lots of best-sellers and classics at bargain prices. Interestingly, we were there during the start of the coronavirus outbreak, and the bookstore asked all patrons to wash their hands in the restroom before handling any merchandise, I appreciated that extra care.

The Steamboat Art Company has been a fixture in downtown Steamboat Springs since 1975 when The Art Department opened at 810 Lincoln Avenue. In 1979 the name changed to The Steamboat Art Company, and in 1988 the store moved to its current location at 903 Lincoln Avenue. For over four decades the Steamboat Art Company has been catering to locals and visitors with quality handcrafts, art, jewelry and decorative accessories. Embellishments opened in 1998 on a side street in downtown Steamboat Springs offering gifts and accessories with a foreign flare. Over 12 years it became a community staple for unique, hand-made, fair-trade gifts and home furnishings at affordable prices. In 2010 the owners of Embellishments acquired the Steamboat Art Company and have been putting their own flare on the products and customer service. The rear gallery has been converted into Embellishments and now offers casual, comfortable women's clothing. Pay us a visit...you won't be disappointed!
A fun stop to look and play puzzle games or browse for a souvenir. All sorts of gifts from art to jewelry, full price range too.

A new fine art gallery in downtown Steamboat Springs featuring 13 artists from Yampa valley; many nationally and internationally recognized.
There is a lot of creative talent in this mountain town and perhaps the best artists are represented at Pine Moon. Staffed by friendly locals--and I think most of them are artists whose work in on display. Highly recommend.

F.M. Light & Sons was our first stop in Steamboat/Clark, CO after getting checked into our cabin. We saw signs for it from a good ways down the highway! They allow dogs in the store, which was a huge plus for us as my jack russell mix traveled with us. The selection is great, lots of western wear, souvenirs, memorabilia, and handmade soaps. I bought lots of postcards, a magnet, and some handmade soap that had puppy prints on it. My sister-in-law bought a very nice sweater/hoodie for a great price!

Cheerful and charming, Waterside Day Spa & Salon is located on the Yampa River in downtown Steamboat Springs. Full service spa and salon offerings include nail care, hair styling, massages, skin care, body treatments, waxing and a Salt Therapy Suite. Waterside Day Spa is beautifully appointed with a combination of antique farmhouse decor and modern accents. Emily is AMAZING! She got my hair from light brown to icy blonde beautifully, without frying my hair. She does great haircuts and eyebrows too. I just moved away from Steamboat and am already stressing I won’t find another hair dresser as great as her! I’ve also had a manicure from Val, massage from Barbara, facial and waxing from Kristin, and I’ve spent some time in the salt room. Seriously love this salon. Great quality and customer service! Best in Steamboat!
