This is Gothic Victorian at its very best a must see and if you are Catholic you must make a pilgrimage to one of Pugin’s finest works, the spire can be seen from miles away

Brewood has become one of my favourite hidden gems in England. It is such a gorgeous village with miles of canal walks and gorgeous little shops and restaurants. But the highlight was definitely a visit to the church and graveyard. Inside you could read the story of the churches history, and a walk around the gravestones told an amazing story of their own, with some grave stones dating back to the 1600's and still in good condition. The minister was welcoming and informative.

We go to this church simply because it always has a priest to say mass, a beautiful place with a load of history there is a gailic cross in the grounds ( there has been a place of worship here before the christians came) a cellabration of all the great potters, and the pipe organ is magnificent and the organist is a brilliant musician there is a chapel for the first world war, which is very moving, they have music recitals and do great work localy for the poor.

Beautiful church with much of interest. I had a look round and was on my way out when a gentleman asked if I had seen the green men. He took me round and showed them all to me. Also had a nice chat to the warden. Second time I had come across wonderful Staffs hospitality and the warmth of the people. A very special church.

Founded on the site of an earlier church in around 1190, St Mary's is the largest church in the town, containing a unique Byzantine font (older than the church itself)and beautiful stonework. From the glorious East Window, to the most recent addition of the Lotus Shoe Window (dedicated in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen in March 2005), St Mary's has a lot to offer in the heart of Stafford.
Luckily my visit coincided with this magnificent Church's Saturday morning "Coffee Concert". The acoustics were truly incredible. But the sight I shall remember for a long time was the burst of colour created by the field of Kneelers which were placed on the ledge of the pews - each one different. Amongst the features to seek out are the puzzling Font (the oldest object in the Church); the stained glass memorial window to the Shoe Trade of Stafford; and the colours in the West Window (behind the Organ), particularly the striking blue glass.
