What to do and see in St. Petersburg, Florida (FL): The Best Wine Bars

December 8, 2021 Sheron Bogner

The sun almost always shines on St. Petersburg, the "Sunshine City" that enjoys an average of 361 days of clear skies per year. Combine that with 244 miles of glimmering coastline along Tampa Bay, the Gulf of Mexico, Boca Ciega Bay and the intra coastal waterways and you have one hot beach destination. Catch the sun, surf and sand at Ft. De Soto Park, or take a hike up the 37-mile Pinellas Trail. Enjoy a Devil Rays game during baseball season or escape to the shady oasis of the Sunken Gardens.

Dracula's Legacy Wine Bar

This cozy little wine bar is nestled right between the beautiful parks and waterfront views of Beach Drive, and the crazy night life of Central Ave. It is the perfect place to stop in after dinner for a quiet drink with friends, sip Sangria on a warm Saturday afternoon, or take a date for a romantic night out. We have a wonderful selection of white, red, rose and sparkling wines to choose from, as well as a delicious hand crafted Tapas menu from Chef Kate, owner of Turnip the Beet catering company. We host a number of exciting events throughout the month like wine tastings, food and wine pairings, wine classes, wine glass painting, artist parties, and book clubs! We can also host private events like wedding parties, birthdays, and charity events. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or new to the wine world, we have something for everyone!

My husband and I visited St. Pete to view the Van Gogh exhibit. We stayed in downtown St. Pete and found this gem while exploring after our Dali visit. They have an extensive wine list, fabulous food and reasonable prices. It's a cozy spot to relax and unwind. We enjoyed the charcuterie and dip sampler and the wine was FABULOUS! I prefer dry wines so I really appreciate the server taking the time to walk us through the extensive menu. We loved this place so much we had to return before we left. We were able to meet the adorable owner who is from Romania. She has thoughtfully curated a collection of yummy wines and she understands the importance of the customer experience.

My wife and I stopped in this past week after visiting some nearby museums. Nicely decorated with comfortable seating in many areas of this wine bar that drops from the main to to a lower level. There are numerous automated wine dispensers that has details of the wine, wine rating, characteristics of the wine. You buy a wine dispenser card. If you do not use all the money on the card, the remaining amount is fully refundable. Some place you buy a card, and the balance it your to keep until next time....If there is a next time. The wine dispensers have 3 pours available. A taste, a half glass and a full glass. Each bottle has the cost of the 3 pours shown before you make a selection. All the wines that are available for tasting, are also available to purchase in the retail area that has the wines, accessories, etc. There is also a small area with wine books, Wine Spectator Magazines and other wine related material for your to study and enjoy. There is also available a menu with cheeses, charcuterie, chocolates, crackers and other delectable's. We did not purchase any food items since we just had lunch, but there was a large selection. A great place to relax and enjoy the fruit of the vine!
