Fabulous and knowledgeable volunteers in their Napoleonic Tardis...it’s definitely bigger on the inside. Hats off to Justin, Mike & Nigel for their passion and enthusiasm. Sadly closed to the public this year; 2020, due to Covid-19. Hoping 2021 allows this fascinating Heritage venue to re-open.

Curve Wake Park offers wakeboarding, stand up paddle boarding & ringo rides for anyone over the age of 8. The boardsports shop will be your first point of call when you arrive at the lake surrounded by beautiful Essex countryside. For regular riding we offer membership/ride packs & anyone is welcome to enjoy a coffee and light bite in our lakeside-cafe and watch the water action from the huge decking area or 4g grass area.
A group of us (2 mums and 4 boys aged 11-16) have just attended the Curve wake park for a pre-booked Aqua Park session and enjoyed it so much our children are already nagging us to book up again. The aqua park was well maintained, the wet suits were all cleaned and dried between use etc. I read on some reviews that the lake is muddy under foot and this is the case but it is in a open water lake so I can’t understand what people would expect it to be under foot. Also other reviews said that the wetsuits smell. As a open water swimmer this smell is simply from the fact you are swimming in open water. Even my own personal wetsuit has the same smell and it’s nothing to do with the suits being dirty or unsanitary. The centre was following all social distancing and did their best to keep groups apart (as best they could where kids are involved) setting groups off to start on different areas of the inflatables. Honestly we all had so much fun and found the centre to be clean and well kept. Staff were all very helpful and it was all very well organised. It is a open water salty lake, therefore it will be muddy under foot, and the wet suits will have a slight rubber/algae smell. This is perfectly normal, and if you want everything to smell of chlorine go to the local swimming pool! It’s the best fun we’ve all had since lockdown!
