Beautiful location along the St. Lawrence River. The nature displays work on all age levels - kids to adults. Staff are very visible, knowledgeable, and easy to interact with. Didn't do all the many trails out to and along the river as I didn't allow enough time (next time for sure) - spent way more time inside than I thought I would. Spent a lot of time with an interactive audio book of hundreds of birds and their songs - pick a bird, enter the bird's index number, and you hear the bird. Though I went in the Fall, there are activities all year, including snow-shoeing on the trails in Winter. Allow at least an hour inside and if hiking the trails is your option, you could spend 3+ hours easily.

Had a great time even though it was misting the entire time there watching these ocean going ships fill up the lock from end to end and side to side and get raised or lowered 40 some feet in a matter of minutes. Also a great video in the visitors center on the construction. Actually visited in July of 2017 on a 50th anniversary trip.

We were camping in the area and went to play mini golf, which my 12-year old son loves. He also loves animals, and was so enchanted with the baby goats that we ended up visiting three times! The mini golf course was nice, not too difficult. The staff was friendly and helpful and enjoyed talking about the goats and chickens, answering questions and telling us facts and stories about them. The goats were fun to feed and pet. A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon (or three), highly recommend.
