What to do and see in St. Kitts, St. Kitts and Nevis: The Best Day Trips from

September 18, 2021 Mikaela Didonna

Lush and luxuriant, the exotic tropical island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis is a romantic paradise. St. Kitts' wonderful beaches remain relatively crowd-free, and nature lovers delight in seeing lava formations, tropical forest and lagoons and underwater marvels while snorkeling or diving. Among more than 200 historical sites, former plantation homes now offer elegant accommodation. Eco-rambles, bio-tours and climbing are Nevis attractions. Rent cars or mopeds on-island and catch ferries between the two.

On the Volcano Caldera Trek you get to hike up every tier of the volcanic cone and you are almost guaranteed to get a bit dirty as you hike, explore, climb and pull yourself to the Caldera of mount Liamuiga. This trek starts at 750ft above the Caribbean Sea and has the perfect back drop with an amazing view of the sweeping landscape down to the Caribbean Sea. The memorable thing with this tour is that you will actually witness the changes in the tropical succession stages as you ascend higher and higher towards the caldera. You will feel the temperature drop, you will see the changes in vegetation, and you will experience the increasing incline as you get closer and closer to the caldera. It is truly a once in a live time trek to experience and once at the top your breath will be taken away by the stunning view while you stand 2800ft above the Caribbean Sea and 600ft above the bottom of the volcanic crater with a rim opening to almost one mile away.

I can go on and on about the wonderful day but will give you the condensed version. From the time of pick up until the drop off we had a blast with Pastor Wiliams (Henry) as our guide for the day. We had 7 of us aged from 21 to 88 and the tour was great for all. We hit all the stops Brimstone Hill Romney Manor + + and ended the day at Timothy Hill after a stop at Shipwreck ( Our choice) for A swim, drinks and lunch. Met Mr Grey a few times during the day. Great guy, Great Company and Great Day for all of us ! Can't say enough good things about them. We topped the day off with a wedding ceremony from Pastor Williams for two in our unsuspected party :-) They are still together pastor. Not sure for how long but still together! :-) Thank You Thenford, Thank You Henry, If anything I can do from the states, you know how to get a hold of me. Take good care and keep on doing what you do! All the best! Mike & Family.

What a fantastic day! Due to some no shows me and my husband were lucky enough to have an exclusive tour courtesy of our brilliant guide Manners. We spent 2 hours off-road in the beautiful St Kitts countryside. We saw monkeys in the wild and ate guavas from the trees. Definitely the best day of our holiday.

Clayton was our guide and did a fantastic job of taking us to spots we wanted to see. He also recommended Lime Beach Bar for lunch, took us there and picked us up in time to meet the ferry back to St. Kitts. He was so concerned that we get back to St. Kitts he had someone else he knew on the ferry watch over us. All in all I would definitely book this trip again thru Tropical Tours. They did a wonderful and thorough job.

Maximize your time in St Kitts-Nevis with this upscale beach transfer.  Tantalizingly close, Nevis can be difficult or expensive to reach for cruisers to St Kitts. Starting in the Marina in the cruise port, you will enjoy beautiful views on your fast power catamaran ride to Nevis.Soon, your captain and mate will be helping you step ashore on Pinney's Beach. Once there, claim your welcome drink, beach chair, and shared umbrella and settle back for a great time on the best beach in either Island.  Utilize your time on Nevis exactly how you wish;  swim, sunbathe or perhaps stroll down the beach to view the adjacent Four Seasons resort, or purchase an island tour directly from the nearby taxi stand. Your boat will return in a little under four hours to pick you up from the beach and whisk you back to the port.

Inclusions: Port pickup and drop-off, Included beach amenities, Beverages included only on the boat

This was our third time in St. Kitts with a cruise ship so it was time to explore Nevis. We were in port 9 am- 4 pm. Meet time was at 930 in the marina which is just to the left of the port as you exit the bulk of the shops. The marina is also easily visible from the top of the ship before you disembark. We actually did not depart until about 10. We took a fast boat across the water to Nevis. The trip took about 30 minutes. The bar was open and the crew served us . The trip over affords you great views of both islands. Upon arrival in Nevis we were turned over to the care of our Nevis guide Smoothie who alternatively regaled us with historical facts, quizzed us or much to our dismay sang (haha!). Had a quick pit stop before we boarded our mini bus. Unfortunately at this point it was cloudy and drizzly. We stopped at Hamilton's birth place, then the hot springs and the Old Bath hotel, on to the old Anglican church and then a quick stop at Nisbet Plantation. Then we back tracked to Lime Coconut restaurant for lunch where we had a choice of jerked chicken/ fish/ veggie wrap with rice and slaw and two drinks ( all included in the price). From there we could walk to the beach where we had umbrellas and chairs at our disposal. It had by then turned into a beautiful day. We had a little bit less than an hour on the beach. The boat picked us directly off the beach at 2 pm. The people who opted for just the beach experience in Nevis were on the same boat with us. We were dropped off in Charlestown first and they were then taken by boat directly to the beach. Then we all got picked up together. Likewise a fun return ride to St. Kitts with open bar and good crew. We were back in port by 230 with plenty of time to do a little shopping and get back on board. This tour gives you the best of Nevis in a small amount of time and absolutely delivers.

We booked the tour through our travel agent's site. It was cheaper than going through Princess Shore excursions. We were met at the ship's dock with a 12 passenger van and had lots of room. Our guide was "Spoonie", Annie's husband, and he was funny and very informative about all that we saw. The stops were just the right amount of time as to see everything and not get bored waiting. We saw alot of things and it gave us a good review of the island. I would book another tour with them if I visit again.

It took me almost 3 months to write this review. I took the trip off the Norwegian Epic Cruise Ship. The day I took the trip was 3/7/2020. We paid around $150.00 apiece and our trip included snorkeling and a stop on the beach in Nevis. It was about 6 hours. The first thing I want to say was this was the BEST crew on any excursion I have ever taken. And I have taken a lot. They were great. So if the owners are reading this, the Kitts Full Day Catamaran to Nevis off the Norwegian Epic on March 7 2020. Please congratulate your crew for a great experience. It was a short walk from the cruise ship to the catamaran. No shoes on the boat. Everyone has to take their shoes off and the crew collects them. It was not the largest boat I have been on but is was OK. There is some shade on the boat but some people had to be out in the sun. The bathroom was on the main level and easy to get into. You did not have to use a ladder. it was clean. Everyone was very friendly and nice on the boat. The boat has a bar. We took a cruise and stopped to go snorkeling. The snorkeling was very nice and all seemed to enjoy. There was a sunken ship off in the distance. They supplied the snorkeling equipment. Beverages were served after snorkeling. There was beer and Rum punch. They were very generous with it. They also served a very nice lunch on the boat. You take a long, beautiful ride. Going along the scenic coastline of St. Kitts. We were on our way to St. Kitts sister island, Nevis. We arrived at Pinney Beach. It is beautiful with a mountain background. The Four Season Resort was near by. The sand was soft and the water beautiful. There were plenty of chairs to use at no charge, They set up a bar for us so you could still get beers and Rum punch. We were there about an hour. It was too short. We had a wonderful ride back. I remember the water being so blue. The crew cranked up the tunes and people were dancing. The drinks were flowing. The crew was dancing with the customers. It was a great ride. We docked and the crew brought you shoes out and even lined them up. It was a wonderful time. We were the last one to board the Epic. Again, Wonderful crew. Wonderful Trip. Thank You. I included a picture with 3 wonderful women that I shared the ride with. They all enjoyed too.
