St. Ives boasts a quartet of golden-sand beaches. Sheltered coves draw swimmers and sun-worshippers, but water-sports aficionados visit St. Ives for great surfing, windsurfing and water-skiing conditions. And on your way there, keep your eyes peeled for a dude with seven wives. You never know when nursery rhymes might come true.

Kidz R Us is an extraordinary youth theatre group, working with around 100 young people a year, aged seven and up. A not-for-profit arts charity, we aim to encourage the participation of young people in the performing arts and behind-the-scenes crafts, both for their own personal development and the benefit of the wider community. Production standards are high and since being formed in 1994, we have produced over 70 shows and won numerous awards. Kidz R Us was a finalist in the Best Arts Project category of the 2010 National Lottery Awards and is a recipient of the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. Our Artistic Director, Phil Barnett, was awarded a British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2012, and we are honoured to have Sir Tim Rice as our Patron.

Saw this last night. A fun little play in a tiny theatre which in itself is part of the attraction - something a bit different. Excellent value for £32 for a family of four. We all enjoyed it and we’ll be back next year I hope.

Perched at the top of a quieter lane, away from the hubbub of Fore Street you can find this fabulous and constantly changing world of colour and originality. It's top of my list every time I visit St Ives now, and whether I'm looking for a small keepsake for myself or a statement piece of jewellery for a friend's big number birthday, I always find something special and unique within the walls of Sweet Lime. If you're lucky enough to visit on a day when the exquisitely dressed owner and maker Elspeth is present, then it's worth seeking her advice, she has a wealth of knowledge and style to share, designs and makes some of the beautiful pieces in store and is even able to create bespoke pieces sometimes. LOVE this place!

Timed tickets are required. Please book in advance from website. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden contains the largest group of Hepworth's works, permanently on display where she lived and worked from 1949 until 1975.
Lovely little sculpture garden in the middle of St Ives with some amazing sculptures set in a lovely garden.

St Ives Storyteller Shanty Baba has been enthralling and entertaining visitors to the town for the past decade. Check out his Lantern Ghost Storywalk..."the darker side of St Ives". It is a night that will haunt you for a long time to come. As an eerie darkness falls over the town, come with Shanty, as he light his hurricane lantern to tell you stories of ghosts, smugglers, murderers and other spirits of the night! And if you stay at the end, he will tell you a technique he learnt while living with a yogi in India that will let you look into the shadow lands beyond. No ifs, no buts. If you dare! His St Ives Pirate Walk is a broadside of entertainment, with pirate stories, instruction in the code and lessons in piratespeak. It is a fun filled youyage of piratical mayhem and laughter that appeals to young and old alike. Come dressed as pirate crew!

Well worth finding, on the outskirts of St Ives, with its own car park. Bernard Leach, regarded as the father of British studio pottery, established the Leach Pottery on the outskirts of St Ives in 1920, extending the site over the years. Leach died in 1979, after which his wife continued to use the pottery to develop her own work, until her death in 1997. The pottery was saved from potential sale in 2005, and was restored and reopened in 2008 as a working studio pottery, museum with many of the old kilns and items of potter's equipment remaining, along with an extensive shop. It provides a fascinating history of the Leach Pottery and also shows contemporary work by associate potters. The extensive shop has work in a variety of price ranges and, yes, we had to buy something...

What a stunning dog friendly beach, few little caves to explore, lovely and quiet, shells to collect. Watching the tide go out is amazing as it creates lots of little sand banks. No toilet facilities, shops or cafes which is brilliant as it means it doesn’t get busy. Brilliant for the kids too to build sandcastles, have a dip in the sea and just be kids. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful quiet dog friendly beach. Will definitely be back.

Been coming for a while and this time we went for NYE which was strictly ticket only which meant it had a nice feeling of space on a busy night in town. A haven to get shelter every now and again and as always, we were met with the friendly bar staff, excellent ale and a very nice spread of food. The pub is on the harbor front down an alley way and can be tricky to find. Once you make your way past several bins outside you will see it. It is very small but tasteful, sort of cave like and has several excellent ales on and sells a few snacks and crisps. That’s about it really. Great place to people watch, get a good beer and spend some time thinking about what pubs might have been like a couple of hundred years ago.
