What to do and see in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austrian Alps: The Best Things to do Good for Kids

February 22, 2022 Flossie Demartino

One of the Tirol area's most popular ski resorts, St. Anton offers some of the best expert skiing and one of the liveliest après-ski scenes in the Arlberg region. The Valluga, Kapall, and Schindler peaks offer almost a mile of vertical skiing. For the seasoned, Schindlerkar and Mattun are less groomed routes.

I went on my first skiing trip in St. Anton am Arlberg last week and needed some lessons to get comfortable to ski. I had a great chat at the office and felt more comfortable right away. Tom helped me out and was such a friendly, patient and helpfull guide. He taught me the basics of skiing in 2 days and made me enjoy skiing:) I would definitely recommend st Anton Classic to everyone who needs a ski instructor in St. Anton!

.....but does the person who does the colour grading of pistes have colour-blindness. Most blue runs in the main area have very steep red bits (esp. pistes 50 and 100), reds are very steep and yet some of the blacks are easily do-able. The snow was excellent when we were there so we ventured over to Lech/Zurs via Stuben and the Trittkopf gondolas with very steep top end. The very steep red piste 144, in Zurs, is brilliant and a must if you like a challenge with a long, shallow 1km schuss at the bottom.

In St Anton the best way to enjoy yourself is to go to ski school. I really enjoyed my five days with a kind yet firm instructor named Ben. He mixes personal feedback with challenging instructions and adds the fun excursion through the trees. I felt safe and really learned a lot. Will make sure to come back soon!

My one of the best ski areas with extensive terrains, slope options from beginner to advanced, very spectacular areas with long slopes and also very nice restaurant-cafe to have a break. I usually do off-pist ski in St Anton because this terrain is very famous of its off-pists. Snow condition was very good. All gondolas, chair-lifts were operated very good and locations were perfect.
