Muzeum, założone w 2012 roku w Katowicach, jest jedynym tego typu podmiotem w Polsce, zarejestrowanym w Ministerstwie Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Na swoich ekspozycjach prezentuje przekrojową historię informatyki. Bieżąca (w pełni interaktywna) ekspozycja prezentuje ok. 270 komputerów. Wśród nich komputery wielkogabarytowe ( w tym sprzęt produkcji polskiej ODRA 1305, ODRA 1304, PRS4, SMC 10, i wiele innych); komputery 8, 16, 32 bitowe oraz komputery specjalizowane rozrywce czyli konsole do gier i automaty Arcade. Muzeum dla osób indywidualnych, dostępne tylko w soboty o godzinie 15:00 - wymusza to fakt, że muzeum w całości prowadzone jest przez wolontariuszy i bez dotacji. Grupy zorganizowane, umawiane są indywidualnie w dogodnych terminach. Zwiedzanie tylko z przewodnikiem.

Exhibition presents collection of necked plucked chordophones - lutes from the whole World. On most of the instruments it is possible to play with a company of two fascinates. A place full of tones, printings, stories, melodies... Entry after previous arrangement by phone.

The main building and most of the Museum’s departments are located in a historic tenement house which was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Its exclusive premises were once occupied by wealthy citizens of the city. Having appreciated the building’s virtues, the Local Government in Katowice decided to allocate the House to the Museum in 1979.
