Centuries old, yet standing sturdy and tall, this quaint little mosque is deeply significant in that Tipu built it and used to pray here regularly. Must have been a grand structure in his times, but now a bit overshadowed buy other structures, the mosque is small in size. The first clear landmark on the skyline as we were on the river bridge approaching the town was the minarets of this grand old mosque!!!!!!!!!!! Very impressive, clean and used for daily prayers regularly by the locals.

Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace was the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan. Hyder Ali commenced its construction and it was completed during the reign of Tipu Sultan in 1791. After Tipu Sultan's death in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the British Administration used the palace for its secretariat before moving to Attara Kacheri in 1868. Today the Archaeological Survey of India maintains the palace as a tourist spot.
