DaVallia Art & Accents

DaVallia is an art boutique with a vintage, modern country flair. Walk into our shop, or browse our collections online and you'll find fine handcrafted arts and crafts with character. Each piece has a story, an identity, and a spirit. Each piece is the unique result of a vision, brought to life by an artist's hand. Couple that special character with a function and you've got art for everyday living. DaVallia was established in 2009 by artists, Michael & Jessie Alon. Michael creates art furniture and sculpture from reclaimed wood, steel, and concrete. Jessie handcrafts artisan jewelry using sterling silver, terrazzo, and semi-precious stones. Together they hand-pick and curate the works form an additional 50 artist. DaVallia's collection emulates the quality of finer metropolitan galleries while still rejoicing in the inviting, warming Vermont charm. Located in historic Chester, Vermont.

This shop has a small selection of well selected, but not particularly unique items. It feels more like a gallery than a shop due to the small selection. Nice merchandising!

We only planned for a quick stop, but ended up shopping and eating lunch for a two hour visit. This huge store has so many things to look at! Many items are from the time of my youth and prior generations so it seems like a museum, but everything is for sale. Definitely worth the short drive off the interstate to visit.

Customer service is the best. The owners take a lot of pride in the theater and it shows. Popcorn is always fresh. Tbe nacho chips are plentiful. First run movies and marathons too. Want to to do some gaming on a really big screen, you can do that here too. The staff is always friendly and have smiles on their faces. Even has an attached ice cream shop. Now if you coukd just get hot dog to go with ice cold soda.

The Fort at #4

Reviewed By Kathy V - Villa Park, Illinois

This is a "Living Museum." The day we were there, they were weaving and cooking a stew. I loved walking around the fort with the guide book, but they have guided tours as well. One of my ancestors was in this fort and given the primitive and dangerous conditions here at the time, I am glad he survived! It was hard to believe that in 1740 they were in the wilderness at the edge of the world! I felt like I was in the Book: The Last of the Mohicans. The guides around the fort were well versed in their area of expertise and were fascinating to talk to! If you love history, you will love this museum!

Wilgus State Park

Reviewed By Lauralanglois - Hudson, New Hampshire

Memorial Day weekend, site 4, which is beautiful and right on the CT river.

Perfect spot for kayaking, hiking Mt Ascutney and exploring the Vermont countryside. Great launch pad to see Queechie, Woodstock, Harland, Claremont, etc. Ascutney state park is right down the street, and you can either hike from the bottom or drive to almost the top via the auto road and then hike the 1m hike around the top to the hang gliding spot.

There's a great canoe launch at Wilgus, but we will be driving to Windsor tomorrow to take a shuttle and kayak about 15m of the CT river tomorrow. :)

Campground is impeccable, bathrooms are super clean. shower was tiled beautifully but I was sorely disappointed by the lukewarm water. That won't keep me from coming back though LOL. Great place for sure

This little schoolhouse is must see on your travels to Springfield. 1st and foremost it is a throwback to a simpler time when there was 1 room schoolhouses. Desks are still there along with books, pencils, maps, etc. There is also lots of information about the actual schoolhouse on the inside and out. The covered bridge and the grounds surrounding are beautiful to look at too. There is also travel information available too located on the property.

The Great Hall

Reviewed By LindyLoo57 - Springfield, Vermont

The Great Hall is located in the medical complex which is a beautiful building in itself. The Hall features changing artists so you never know what you will see. They also have concerts, community events etc. Well maintained and clean. The only weird part is that a pharmacy is situated right in the middle of this area!
