This park is huge, with formal flower gardens, grassy area with native plant gardens, a Japanese garden with a little waterfall and a koi pond,a big greenhouse with a great variety of plants incuding orchids and some unusual varieties of cactus, a playground area with picnic tables, and another picnic area with limited parking. It is all free, but they do accept donations. There are restrooms at the playground area and behind the greenhouse.

The Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox is located in beautiful downtown Spokane, WA, in the heart of the Lilac City's entertainment district. The Theater opened in 1931, as a 2300-seat movie theate. The recently renovated Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, which seats approximately 1600 today, has promoted the arts, enthralling and entertaining old and young across the decades. Today, the theater exemplifies Spokane's rich and vibrant performing arts scene, housing the Spokane Symphony, as well as acclaimed entertainers, dance troupes, musical acts, and theater talents.
Gorgeous theater in Art Deco design. The sound quality is also wonderful. I have attended many events at this theater and am always impressed. There is also a lounge area with tables to relax and visit. This a great size theater for the symphony. Other venues are too large and not intimate.

This 40 mile paved, car-free trail bordering the beautiful Spokane River has something for everyone: running, hiking, biking, horseback riding and canoeing. The Spokane River Centennial Trail is the backbone of the recreational trail system in eastern Washington and north Idaho, welcoming over 2.5 million users annually.
We rode parts of the Centennial Trail both East and west of Spokane oh, and all of it was wonderful. The entire trail is composed of different geographic regions, along both sides of the Spokane River running through downtown Spokane and all the way to the Idaho state line. Some of it is flat, the downtown area is very crowded with lots of bridges. The route on the west of downtown is beautiful, but very hilly and only for folks in good condition! The rest of the trail is suitable for even small children or the elderly. This is a great Trail so we highly recommend it, along with the Route of the Coeur d'Alenes and the Route of the Hiawatha in Idaho next door. We drove 300 miles just to bike these three routes!!!

With one of the best urban falls in the nation, Riverfront Park's ideal downtown location that is surrounded by the Spokane River offers a variety of activities from biking the Centennial trail, walking paths, attractions such as a 1909 Looff Carrousel and Gift Shop, SkyRide Over the Falls, IMAX Theatre, Tour Train, Amusement Rides and an outdoor covered ice rink make this park a destination. The Red Wagon and Rotary Interactive Fountain provide hours of fun. With plenty of easy parking, the region's best events are also hosted on this 100 acre green space including Hoopfest (World's Largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament), Bloomsday Road Race, 4th of July Celebration, Pig Out in the Park Food and Music Festival and many more. The Spokane Convention Center, Spokane Arena, RiverPark Square, many downtown eateries and hotels border the park making this a great place to visit. The Sculpture Walk also highlights the best art in Spokane.
Perfect for all ages, Riverfront Park is a really well done park with walkways along and crossing the river, beautiful city & falls views and even a park for the little ones (in a super jumbo radio flyer wagon...so cute). There are sculptures along the way as well which is a great touch. It’s hard to miss and worth the visit.

Located outside of Spokane, this mountain region offers skiing and other outdoor activities.
We took our granddaughters here for ski lessons. They had a great time. While they were in their lessons, we got to ski the rest of the mountain including some excellent expert runs. The stone hut at the top of the mountain was funky with a fire crackling in the stone fireplace.
