The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

We held a party at the All Star Lanes Brick Lane, in the penthouse private room, with a mixture of adults and children. It was a very successful event. The room was beautiful and the perfect space for entertaining. Virginia managed the event and was on hand from the very beginning, making sure everything ran smoothly. She was friendly and unflappable. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt in safe hands! The bar staff, Juan and Giaccomo did an amazing job and were great fun, they really added to the atmosphere of the party - the espresso and passion fruit martinis were the best I’ve had and a highlight for lots of guests. Food was great too, and there was plenty of it. Bowling was great and everyone was able to get involved. The sound system and projector worked without a hitch, thanks to the helpful team. All in all a lovely, stress-free party which we would love to do again. Thank you!

Close-Up makes film culture and history accessible through its cinema programmes and mediatheque. Established in 2005, Close-Up is the most comprehensive independent film resource in London. Close-Up's film programmes present a series of films that shaped the art of cinema and its history including regular special events with filmmakers present to discuss their work. The cinema is also available to host press screenings, corporate hire and presentations. With 40 comfortable seats, the theatre is equipped with DCI compliant digital projection (DCP), reel-to-reel 35mm, and a 5.1 surround sound system. The Mediatheque’s collection of over 20,000 titles includes rare films exclusive to Close-Up and by independent filmmakers not represented by distributors. In the heart of our film centre is our café and bar where you can access our unique collection of films and books whilst enjoying some of the finest coffee and artisan bakery in Shoreditch.
Bookstore meets cafe, meets small movie theater, meets chess games, with the option of an array of film rentals. Initially, the plan was to watch an old Japanese movie and then head home, but couldn't do without a chess game over a bottle of beer.
