Sea Turtle Preservation Society Melbourne Beach

Turtle walks are held in June and July.

Reviewed By Cabhybrid - Butler, United States

We didn't have any plans for Thursday and found out about the sea turtle preservation society via TripAdvisor. We decided to stop and we are so pleased that we did. The clerk, Donna, was very enthusiastic about what the society does. She was so kind, and helpful. She told us about a turtle release that was happening that afternoon further south of Melbourne. She took the time to give us directions and show us exactly how to get to that beach section and park. We were able to find the spot and participate in the release of two turtles. It made our day. My husband and I could not have been happier. They also have great T-shirts and other gifts that of course pertain to turtles. They also provide an educational experience about turtles. It is well worth a stop.

You’ll have an incredible experience at Jetty Park! We used to own a house in Ocean Woods walking distance to Jetty Park, 20 years ago and those days are unforgettable. Now we’re back to the area and Jetty Park is my favorite spot. You can go fishing there, you can watch the Kennedy Space Center Nasa lift off space shuttles and rockets, you can camp there, very secured and organized and clean, you can see the cruise ships going out to the ocean like a Godzilla in front of your eyes! There are incredible restaurants near by on the water, and inside the park, walks on the beach in a nice warm Florida sun, children are so happy there, as my daughter was, growing up. I highly recommend the Jetty Park to everyone!!! There are little creatures living there such as squirrels, etc and there are cars walking around too, they live there for years!!! Nice showers to use after you go to the beach, easy parking. My family and friends always had lots of fun there. Take one or few days and you’ll love it! Enjoy

Spessard Holland South Beach Park

Reviewed By mjcor - Malabar, United States

Off A1A and south of Melbourne, FL on the way to Sebastian, this city park is situated on the beach. First off, there is plenty of parking. Second, clean and well appointed bathrooms allows for a shower and bathing suit changes. Third, outdoor showers to rinse sand as salt from everything. Then you get to the boardwalk. Nice, broad wooden ramp to allow wheelchairs, fishing carts etc., access to the beach without hassle. And the view is just stunning when the sun is up. You can clearly see different shades of green and blue water with birds all over the place. Hungry? No problem. "Billy's" mobile eatery serves excellent food right there. We have yet to see the beach dirty. It is a safe environment for families with a few gazebo's to rent for a special event. Hats off to the city's Parks Department!

Robert P. Murkshe Memorial Park

Reviewed By GoldenKnight85

Went to Robert P. Murkshe Memorial Park for the first time today. Met two friends from Orlando there, and had the best time. Restrooms were clean, had a nice outdoor shower which is always a plus, and the beach was clean and beautiful. No lifeguard on duty (Monday), so maybe just weekends. Sign did say "No Fishing", but one man was fishing from the shore. He wasn't in anyone's way, but just odd he did that when the sign clearly says "No Fishing". Great beach to take a family, and has 24 parking spots, with handicap available. Must turn left down 16th Street from A1A heading South. Two thumbs up from me! Enjoy!
