Take Aim provides a centrally located, fully air conditioned indoor gun range located in Sarasota, Florida with numerous protected shooting positions. We have a very comfortable lounge area and spectator area if you just like to watch people shoot. We are a full service Firearm Dealer and Training Facility. We have over 70 firearms for rent and offer free firearm testing for our members. A valid photo ID (passports are accepted) and a $12 a year membership are required to use the range.

While visiting Florida, I fell into this range. While they require a membership( $12.00), it is far less expensive than their competition, which is $40.00 plus monthly dues. The staff and all the employees at TAKE AIM, are friendly and try to ensure that you have a great shooting experience. I cannot wait to go back; this is what every range should be like: FRIENDLY & HELPFUL.

We spent a few weeks out in Florida for the Christmas period and decided to tick an item off the bucket list which was to shoot a gun. Now coming from the UK we don't get the opportunity to shoot anything unless you try your hand at clay pigeon shooting which is a different thing all together. Well from the moment we walked into the Shop we were greeted extremely well by a gentleman with long grey hair - I can't recall his name so I appologise for that - but needless to say he was very patient, friendly, energetic and made us all feel completely at ease. We explained what we wanted to do and he talked us through everything. Nothing was too much trouble and even though the range was quite busy at the time he always had time to make sure we had everything we needed. We had the video safety briefing and were took through to the range. Everything to this point was going extremely well. We were shown how to load the weapons and all of the safety precautions required when using them. My son suffered an anxiety attack during the hands on explanation of the weapon, causing him to pass out and faint on the table in the range cubicle. The staff were there straight away, we got my son up and out in to the corridor, sat down, cold drinks, sugar etc. Fortunately there was a dentist/doctor in the range at the time and she helped with my son's recovery. At no point did the experience phase the staff at the range and they were professional to the end. I would definitely recommend going - it's so much fun. We all came away from the experience on a high and talking about it for hours. It's something I'd definitely do again but it does make you realise just how 'real and dangerous' these small arms can be. One piece of advice. Don't bother with the .22 handguns. They jam all of the time and stop the experience being as good as it can be.

If you intend to shoot a hand gun safely training is the best way. The Alamo Gun Range in Naples Florida has great private and group training. I have had many lessons at the Alamo but recent training with Miles S. was fantastic. Miles is all about safety and realistic use of a handgun in real life self defense situations. Get professional gun handling training as your life can depend on it.

Visited to sight in a get a little help field striping a fussy brand new Walther CCP. Excellent feel and weight with an extended clip but a puzzle palace to field strip. Walther’s manual and service department were shockingly useless. Joe G at the Fort Meyer store was a was able to walk me through it quickly and professionally.
