Just the sight of the granite-stone castle atop Puolalanmäki hill gives a promising indication of the treasures inside. Turku Art Museum is a jewel of the city, where, in alternating collection exhibitions visitors can spot the brushstrokes of famous Finnish painters such Helene Schjerfbeck and Akseli Gallen-Kallela. Diverse and high-quality temporal exhibitions introduce the fascinating world of art, from classics to the freshest contemporary art but museum offers also many other activities as well as beautiful atmosphere to meet and socialise. Take a seat in the museum’s super-lovely Café Victor, and enjoy the charming porcelain and warm service!
We were pleasantly surprised by how lovely this art museum is. Comparable to the Ateneum in Helsinki!

Soderlangvik Manor is one of the most impressive visitor’s attractions on the Kimito island. The manor’s main building has since 1965 served as an art and personal history museum. You can get acquainted with Amos Anderson's impressive life and extensive art collection. Changing art exhibitions are also available in connection with the restaurant. The manor's operations consist of apple gardens, forestry, lodging, restaurant services and various events. Here you can celebrate weddings and other parties, and for businesses the manor serves as an inspiring conference or recreation venue in a unique archipelago environment. Soderlangvik Manor is a vibrant entity that manages a valuable cultural heritage and actively develops new functions.

Waino Aaltonen Museum of Art - or more familiarly WAM - is the Turku City art museum. The focal point of the exhibitions is modern and contemporary art. WAM displays c:a four exhibitions annually.
This small museum is absolutely wort a visit. The museum building itself is lovely: clean, airy modern architecture - and they have often very good, small and compact exhibitions. The museum's cafe is wonderfully retro, looks and feels just as it did when the museum first opened. Friendly service and tasty cinnamon buns and others treats. I recommend you schedule ca. 1 hour for the exhibitions and enjoying the museum's atmosphere over a cup of coffee in their lovely cafe.
