A little slice of paradise that we heard about by chance and we are so glad we visited. The garden is stunning and the owners are so friendly and passionate about their work. It is free to enter but donations are welcome. Do not skip this place on your trip!

The Gore Public Gardens are one of Gore's well-loved attractions, offering something for locals and visitors alike. Among the exotic trees and shrubs are a number of rare and unusual specimens. The Gardens are a place of ever-changing beauty, showcasing some of NZ's finest fauna and flora. Here, you will find plenty of seating, picnic tables, and an aviary with a wide variety bird species.
We realise the roses are not at there best now, but we so enjoyed walking around the gardens and of course seeing the birds. Well done to the gardeners

Complete with seating areas, picnic tables and sealed pathways, Bannerman Park is the perfect place for a quiet stroll or family outing. At Bannerman Park, you can find extensive plantings of rhododendrons, conifers, native ferns, daffodils, peonies, daylilies, willows, oaks and silver birches to name a few, intertwined with streams, ponds and a deer park.
We strolled down the beautiful park from the top enjoying the many exotic plants and trees that adorn each side of the pathway. We wandered to the path on the right to view the many Rhododendrons Hostas Trillon Plants and many more. At the end of the walkway was a lovely Deer Park.
