I did not expect to like this place so much. It's full of history and wonderful art work, special furniture, books written by the great Nicolae Iorga, bits and pieces from the politician's life. The curators were so kind and friendly, they did a great job! Make sure you visit the whole complex - the religious part has some incredible pieces of history to share.

We really enjoyed visiting the domain. Everything is clean and there is so much space. The guided tour is appropriate for everyone and it brings you closer to history. I enjoyed walking in the gardens and visiting the church. Entrance is 10 lei for adults and 5 for students.

The Municipal Museum has four sections: History - from ancient to contemporanity, Ethnography located in the oldest house in the city - 1735, Mateias Mausoluem - dedicated to those who fight and died in First World War and George Topirceanu Memorial House - one of the most important romanian poet, each located in different locations. An important modern art collection can also be admired in History side.

The place is beautiful and green. Sadly, because of the Covid pandemic, you can't visit the museum. You can visit the village museum. It is beautiful and has a loooot of houses from different regions. It also has equestrian lessons..but again, because of the pandemic, they are not available.

The site of the infamous political prison of Pitesti, where over 600 students were tortured by the communists between 1949-1951. Pitesti Prison was buil in 1941 and it functioned as a prison until 1977. During its functioning, thousands of political prisoners were brought here. From 1949 until August 1951, the penitenciary housed the most violent action in the communist world - Pitesti Phenomenon.
You have to visit it. It is one of the few memorials in the country about communist prisons and is the place where the most terrible actions of re-education of detainees took place. And has the best organized exhibition about what happened in Romania.
