Villa Golescu is a unique architectural and landscape ensemble encompassing a whole diversity of elements. It is one of the most interesting places to visit on an itinerant route which crosses the mountains between Wallachia and Transylvania, was built in 1910 and is a fine example of the neo-romanian architectural style. Guest rooms are available.

Very nice place, large park with lake view. Recommended for all age. Just 15 km from Bucharest center. But avoid the restaurant

Targoviste city, the old capital of Valahia, is a town with a rich culture and history placed in the southern of Romania at 80 km. from Bucharest. Symbol of the old fortress of Targoviste, “Chindia” Tower (“the Sunset Tower”) was build in the second reign time of Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler).
This tower is the symbol of Targoviste. It is old and it had many uses (guard tower, bell tower and others to discover). The entry for the whole complex for an adult is 12 ron. From the top there is a splendid virw of the city and on the way you get a little lesson of romanian history (would be good of all of it is also translated into english). Visit it!

Targoviste is well worth jumping on the train out of Bucharest for. Chief among the highlights (including the police museum, history museum, and military complex where the Ceausescu's were executed) is the princely court - childhood home of Vlad the Impaler. The grounds and ruins are large, accessible and contain a lot of information (also in English) relating to the Wallachian rulers. There is also a stunning church full of frescoes, Chindia tower, and a museum of early printing & literature. We choose here over Bran for a trip out of Bucharest because it seemed more historically interesting and accurate, and were not disappointed at all.

The house is beautiful and it has an incredible feel to it as you imagine what masterpieces were maybe composed here and sang here. The ladies from the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The tour is nice. You can also take an audio tour for 5 lei a piece. There are also some souvenirs. For a clasical music enthusiast or romanian history enthusiast, be sure to visit.
