The underground railway located in the mine is the first attraction of this type in Poland, and fourth in Europie. In the past it used to serve the miners as their mean of transport of miners. Popular pilgrimage site since 18th century. Stands on top of Koscielec hill, which is part of Włodzickie Wzgorza group of hills. The whole area was developed for tourists by German Mountain Society of Kłodzko - those areas were part of Germany till the end of WWII. Been slowly falling into disrepair till mid nineties of 20th century, then the sanctuary was renovated and basically rebuild,.

It's probably the last and only sign of coal mining (the coal mine itself was turned into economical zone), that was a major industry in area for 400 years (memorial plaque on the monument mentiones 600 years...), that finally came to its sad end by the end of 20th century.
