Called Sørlandet, Norway's South Coast is known for its rocky coastline, its whitewashed houses and its idyllic archipelago. This warmest area in the country draws many resdents for a summer holiday. Kristiansand, the biggest city here and fifth-largest in all of Norway, has many lovely beaches, a very good zoo (Norway's most visited attraction) and a number of historic buildings. These date from the period of the city's 17th-century founding and are located in Posebyen, the old town area.

If you would like a wonderful experience in the skerries between Arendal, Tvedestrand and Lyngor, you'd be wise to notice the following: Sorlandets Maritime is located in the most beautiful part of the Norwegian skerries, near Lyngor. At Sorlandets Maritime, you can rent a taxi boat or charter boat for a pleasant trip with friends or aquaintances all year. MS Lyngholmen is the er flagship - a veteran ship with room for 60 passengers. There are nice lounges both on and below deck. The 50 year old ship is built in heavy pine, and used to be a coastal ferry in the western part of Noway, tourist boat in the Oslo fjord and on Sorlandet. Enjoy the view and the calm atmosphere on both sun decks on board.
