Seated on a patio with an open view of the river and the hills beyond, we watched the sky change color and darken. Local birds serenaded us as we sipped a unique Mescal pre-dinner cocktail and whet our appetites with a mild yet exceptionally flavorful salsa that 2 of the men had been asked to help prepare. So a brief cooking instruction was included. The tostadas with pork fat and farmer's cheese served with the salsa were addictive! We then drank superb Mexican wine as we enjoyed a variety of authentic Oaxacan dishes. First white wine was perfectly paired with the food, then red as the heavier dishes arrived. And the exquisite food just kept coming... Perfectly sized portions so we never got too full to enjoy it. The Chile Poblano soup was indescribably exquisite! I personally can't eat anything that is too spicy or hot. The soup, like all the dishes, was full of different flavors but all were gentle to the tongue. I loved the 2 mole dishes, one yellow and the other negro. It was terrific to taste the difference. I could go on and on about this culinary adventure! I'll contain myself and simply say that I'm so glad I went and I will be back. This dinner will be one of my best, and certainly most delicious, memories of Huatulco. Thank you Jane and staff!

Betsy arranged two custom tours for us. One tour for 4 women and the other for 7 women. Both tours were fantastic. Our first day we went to an Alebrije shop, Ocotlán Market for lunch and a family home to learn about backstrap weaving. We learned so much about Zapotec culture and history. Our second day with 7 of us (her husband, Javier, drove a second car) we went to Hierve El Agua, a small family run Mezcal factory, lunch at an organic market and last to Teotitlán del Valley to a rug place where every step of the rug making is done by hand. Betsy is wonderful. She is knowledgeable, accommodating to our needs and wishes and fun to be with. We also enjoyed meeting her husband and learning about her and family. I highly recommend her tours.

The town is tranquil & amazing, but all bus rides are terrible! I have tried all the busses. Its better to take a taxi, because the bus drivers whip the many twist & turns so fast, that many people vomit & the buses & you smell it for 4 hours. The driver ignores you with any request. They laugh about how many people get sick. No impressed. Choose another travel option.

We didn’t want to do a full day tour so it was really easy to just use the shuttle option. Evelyn, who helped us, was very nice and I was so thankful to her and the driver when they helped me retrieve my phone after having left it in the van.

It was definitely a great idea to book this tour to discover more about the surroundings of San Cristobal and the traditions of the people who live there. My favorite part was the visit of the hand-made textiles managed by amazing entrepreneurs women. We got the chance to dress with traditional clothes as you can see on the picture! Rudy is a true passionate guide, which made the tour even more interested. The fact that it’s only very small group (we were 3 and I think the maximum is 4) made it more interactive between us and also less intrusive for the people who live in the towns we visited.

I booked this tour literally a few hours prior to scheduled departure and ended up having a guide with an air-conditioned van all to myself. My tour-guide Polo was knowledgable and let me customize the itinerary to my liking (I am glad he was available on a 5-minute notice) ????It was a nice combination of learning about local eco-system, beach-time, and a yummy culinary experience. I was also able to finally find a variety of mezcal that I could drink. This tour is a must if you like to see and learn new things.

We had a great time from start to finish! Christian made the enjoyment and safety of our canyoning and snorkelling adventure his top priorities. He is HIGHLY skilled and experienced in guiding, and offers up great conversation with his knowledge of local cultural, historical and ecological information. He is also environmentally and personably conscientous, prompt, flexible and funny! This expedition definitely has our stamp of approval! Camille & Todd

Me and my girlfriend did this turtle release early may 2021. We got to release 45 minutes old baby turtles into the ocean. The guides were very helpful and informative about turtles in general and around the area. Would recommend everyone to experience this. Prepare for cuteness!
