The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

Hayward Gallery is a world-renowned contemporary art gallery and a landmark of brutalist architecture. The year-round exhibition programme focuses on presenting a wide range of adventurous and influential artists from across the world.
Located in the Hayward Gallery on the rooftop of the Southbank Centre, 'Among the Trees' exhibition, gives many different views of the humble tree. Installations, sculptures paintings and animations carve a path through their structures, shapes, textures and movements. Impressive charcoal drawings on paper recreate their image. Finally being allowed to experience an exhibition in person provides a welcome break from the computer screen. Watch out for the one way system as it can mean running several rings around the exhibits.

The London Dungeon, one of the UK’s most iconic attractions, has reinvented itself now as a bigger, bolder and better attraction in the vast underground vaults of County Hall on the South Bank, next to the EDF Energy London Eye. The all new multi-million pound attraction will bring 1000 years of authentic London history to life with a unique mix of talented live actors performing in scarily funny shows, stunning special effects, edge of your seat surprises and two exciting thrill rides. Guests will embark on a journey through a dramatic London landscape going back ten centuries. They will be guided through ghastly plague-ridden streets, witness Guy Fawkes’ dramatic plot to blow up Parliament, travel back to Jack the Ripper’s bleak Whitechapel and walk beneath London’s foreboding medieval gates. There are new shows and rides which are more dramatic and surprising than ever, new funnier scripts, more theatrical costumes and styling and more talented actors to play even more colourful villains and blaggards.
We had a great time at the London Dungeon in August 2020. It was much scarier than the old venue at Tooley St. Great interaction with the actors and interesting historical overview of London including the Guy Fawkes, The Great Fire, Jack the Ripper and Sweeney Todd. Excellent social distancing maintained throughout the experience. Highly recommend this day out.

This is an amazing exhibition if you get the chance to visit. We saw it in London just prior the lockdown. It has been put together by the folk of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and shows the story of his life and many of his major works all assembled in a digital format with some interactive components. It takes about 90 minutes to wander through and you can sit down at various stations and listen to the audio guide whilst admiring Vincent’s work. There is a very good book and souvenir shop at the end of the exhibit. We have seen the Museum in Amsterdam and love Vincent’s work but this show revealed some aspects we were unaware of and we all enjoyed it immensely.
