We've been there in December but the best time to visit this place would be most probably the summertime. Prepare for some small hiking. We were not ready for that but despite all the sweat it was worth to see it all. You will see some wild animals but don't be deceived by some comments about bringing the food for them. Don't do it. We bought a full package of carrots and...it turned out to be a huge mistake. You can't feed animals there. If you do it remember about 5k CZK you may pay for it (fine). I recommend this place to literally everyone who likes to stay healthy ???????? And don't bring food for animals!!!!!! ????

The Origin of Open Gardens At the beginning the idea was to create a modern and environmentally friendly yet functional space that would serve as a good example as to how others - businesses, schools, government agencies and the general public, could follow. This idea came into being in the fall of 2012. Built in the heart of the second largest city in the Czech Republic, the Open Gardens has been functioning as a textbook of environmentally friendly architecture, sustainable agriculture and modern environmental protection. Climate change poses a fundamental threat to people in the Amazon rainforest, India, sub-Saharan Africa or in Europe. Unprecedented floods, droughts and unpredictable weather changes threaten the lives of millions of people around the globe. The Open Gardens is a living example of suitable adaptation measures to climate change which can be adopted in a highly urbanized areas. Open Gardens = Education and Fun! Open Gardens consists of two parts: a unique environmental education facility, and an office development which provides a home to several Czech NGOs. Open Gardens hosts countless events and activities - seminars, lectures, workshops, family events and educational programs tailored for students. As well, visitors can enjoy guided tours of the passive buildings or rent a place for a private family party. The emphasis of the whole garden design is put on adventure exploration of ecological coherences and the laws of nature focusing mainly to alternative energy sources and physical phenomena, energy savings, utilization of renewable sources of energy and the use of vegetation elements in their natural way.

I spent a few days with a friend living right next to the Museum so decided to visit. It was an eye-opening experience into the history of the Roma peoples, and their experience, culture and oppressions under various Czech governments. I appreciated the resilience of the Roma peoples in spending centuries travelling across Europe, the beautiful connections of their crafts and music and dance - and their fall out with the Catholic Church for simply believing in a different form of Christianity (which ultimately caused the worst oppressions in Europe). Up until relatively recently - the Roma holocaust and the forced assimilation under Soviet/Communist rule. Considering I saw racism against the Roma in Brno myself, this context was really important. If you are passing through Brno or visiting, please visit. It should take you about 2 hours to go through the whole thing (There is an audio guide in English but you can also pick up a book at the front of the exhibit which has the same descriptions).

A brand new world, where everything makes a completely different sense. Once upon a time in a faraway galaxy, on a pink planet called Matrix, there was a team of wizards, hippies and mermaids. They decided to build a spaceship made out of spices, bitters and cognac. On their escape from 5D space, they stopped to get some peanuts. They played chess with Chinese master to make him clap a sound of a falling tree with his one hand and through a wormhole fell into a town, where noon is stroked by the clock at 11 am. Open the curtain of Super Panda Circus but do not expect an ordinary menu here. We have stories. At each of the story, you will get lost in order to find what you need - whether it’s the reason for the existence of the universe or just having a drink tonight.
This reminds me of a speakeasy, going through the curtained door you are led upstairs to a small theatre like auditorium with the bar centre stage. Once seated your host guides you through a endless choice of cocktails Pick from the ones on a floating balloon or tell him what things you like and the cocktail maker will create an individual drink. The drinks are memorable, a gin cocktail in a flowerpot with candyfloss on a stick looked like a surreal flower. It was my birthday and our host said you must have the local butterscotch schnapps, it could fuel a rocket, A tremendous evening far removed from a conventional bar
