Encompassing two of the Netherlands’ three largest cities (Rotterdam and The Hague), Zuid-Holland (South Holland) is also home to important towns like Leiden, Gouda and Delft. And many lovely smaller towns dot the gorgeous green landscape. Alphen aan den Rijn has several interesting attractions, including Dutch history theme park Archeon. Picturesque Kinderdijk, birthplace of the legend of the Cat and the Cradle, also has many windmills that together are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A historic city walk in the historic center of Gouda. You will walk in a small group of max. 20 people. The experienced guides show you the most beautiful and interesting places in Gouda. The small scale of the city is attractive for walking. You will be surprised what Gouda has to offer. You are welcome. Robert

We took waterbus #20 from Erasmusbrug (Rotterdam) to Kade to rent bikes and follow the map to bike to Kinderdijk. There are bike lanes and it's very relaxing to bike next to the windmills with tall grass on the side. People are friendly there, we got lost on the way to Kinderdijk and people would stop and ask if we are going to Kinderdijk, then point us the direction. We visited museums and stop at the visitor center for boat ride. The guide on the boat is a local, he said they are volunteers and he gave us the history background of Kinderdijk and answer our questions. The trip was very educational and relaxing.
