This is a very long street that stretches from the Ferry Building and the Bay all the way to the Richmond District and the Pacific Ocean. Along the way you have a good cable car line, lots of skyscrapers, Grace Cathedral and Nob Hill, part of Chinatown, Polk Gulch, the edge of the Fillmore and the huge Richmond district residential area. You can walk only part of it, it is so long.

The Ferry Building has a wide array of attractions: wonderful restaurants like Slanted Door and Boulettes Larder, great food from top of the line local purveyors like Cowgirl Creamery and Acme Bread, shops with all manner of goods, and a fantastic Saturday market with San Francisco’s unique spin, whether high end oils and preserves or hot foods from stands owned by local restaurants. A great venue with a mix of locals and tourists.

I come to a game at least once a year and I live in SoCal. This is one of the best parks in baseball, every seat is great, the food is amazing, garlic fries, tri-tip sandwiches, Ghirardelli Chocolate, Sierra Nevada and much more. Also if you have Clear you can get in the park fast.

I’m not sure why, but I can’t even talk about this monument without tearing up. For starters, it’s a beautiful location and the sound of the water flowing over the stone becomes more noticeable the closer you get. It draws you in to the area under the monument. I can get this far without tears but when I talk about the quote found underneath, my own waterworks start. Every time. "No, no, we are not satisfied and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream." I used to live in San Francisco and Yerba Buena gardens is my happy place. I find this memorial powerful and beautiful.

Wander through to the back of the Ferry Building and you'll find this delightful little bookstore. Despite it's small size, it boasts a great choice of books, cards and gifts to please the book lover. If you're searching for a book about the local area, you need look no further. There's also a cute children's book section. What's not to love about the trolley outside, where you can buy used books, too. Come on people, support your local bookstore - don't let the online giants win the book wars.

The rooftop gardens have become one of San Francisco's great treasures. Walk around, read the descriptions of the plants and trees, admire the new soaring skyscrapers all around, sit on a bench and eat your lunch. It's all here. Down below is a relatively empty bus terminal, waiting for bus service.

We had a good time at Pier 39 and took a ride on the carousel. Its towards the Bay side of the Pier. Its one of two carousels in San Francisco - the other one being at Yerba Buena Park.

There is so much of the city in this neighborhood, parks, world class museums, fancy new apartment complexes, and the tallest skyscraper in town. But the best feature is the brand new elevated park at the transit center. The landscaping and peaceful areas are fabulous, and the city is all around you.
