Having heard a lot about this place we deciced to give it a try whilst in KZN. It turned out to a most wonderful experience and we were just so sorry that we could not stay longer. It is not necessary to be a Buddhist to stay there and everyone is welcome. A very relaxing place with healthy vegetarian meals and many optional ativities such as Yoga, meditation and forest walks. So it was definitely worth the trip.

This stately cathedral’s prominent tower dominates High Street.
Went to listen to a choral recital by the Kwantu choir during the Grahamstown festival. Gorgeous stained glass windows and tapestries adorn the church. Lovely sculpture of Reverend Trevor Huddleston, with accompanying info about him and his work against racial prejudice.

Beautiful architecture, the church typifies the grand style of the past, the history of the first people that settled here. The beautiful arching seating inside, spotlessly clean and elegant, definitely worth an hour to float around. Situated at the top of church street.

We went to eat the delicious very affordable pure vegetarian food in the restuarant below the temple. We also went into the temple for a few minutes to enjoy the peace and tranquility after what was a hectic drive to get there. There is also seating in the garden and around the moat, to relax in the evening, which we did after the meal. Just off the main motorway and visible from the motorway so you can not get lost.
