This motorcycle tour will immerse you in some of the most breathtaking scenery in South Africa. We will ride some stunning coastal roads and beautiful mountain passes. This tour is also a ghost ride. We'll ride along paths trod by a captivating cast of heroes who shaped the life of Cape Town and South Africa. We'll track the beginning and end of Nelson Mandela's time in prison. We'll encounter the legend of the Watcher of the South and the creation of Table Mountain as told in Xhosa mythology. We'll discover how the mountains we ride in were used to measure the size of the Southern Hemisphere. We'll see how the water that flows from Table Mountain made it possible to build a trading station - and eventually a city here. We are confident this tour will give you lifelong memories of incredible motorcycling and a group of new friends: ghosts from the past as well as the Ride Down South crew.

Inclusions: Honda Africa Twin 750 or Suzuki VStrom 650 motorcycle, Riding gear - a selection of helmets, jackets and gloves are available, Fuel

My husband and I stayed over at the Ghost Mountain Inn recently. We only stayed over for one night, but had we known it was so wonderful, we would have stayed longer. The grounds and swimming pools are beautifully maintained. We stayed in a garden room which was very clean and comfortable, with a lovely view out to the garden. The staff was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. We were able to arrange a boat cruise without any hassles. The dinner , breakfast and lunch were all very tasty and well-prepared. In the evening a lovely atmosphere was created outside with the lamps being lit in the garden and around the pool area. We will definitely recommend this gem to travelers who are planning a trip to this beautiful part of the country.

Francis was a charming young man who was a wonderful driver but was greatly lacking as a guide. He didn't know even the most basic information about Cape Town or the sights he drove us to. There were 8 of us, each paying $140 ($1120). For that kind of money I feel Viator should insure that a knowledgeable guide is provided.
