The rock engravings Ait Ouaazik are among the best known of southern Morocco. They are located 70km drive north of Zagora (current region of Souss-Massa-Daraa). The village is located in an oasis in the Draa Valley near Nkob. ) . At that time the area was a Aït Ouaazik steppe. The drawings represent mainly hunting scenes and geometric figures. The animals represented are elephants, giraffes, ostriches, buffalo and antelope. The drawings sometimes show hunting scenes. The geometric figures are spirals, concentric arcs and circles. Several techniques are used to etch the rock of soft sandstone: - Staking: picket rock by giving it a regular succession of shocks, for an alignment points. - Polishing: trace an outline where a more or less deep in the slab continuous line by polishing sandstone rock. - The tazinien style: it is a particular aspect of polishing, or a few organs of animals represented are exaggerated length (legs, horns ...) without lacking artistic touch.
To come and see rock carvings of Ait ouaazik, one don't need to rely on a accompanist any more, because the road is provided with signs from N12 to the site ,and as to the history or the explinations of engravings ,I advise you to rely on the garde (the men who looks after them) for that because he searched a bit about it and has got informations from reliable sources.

Every North African town has a kasbah, a traditional administrative building made from mud and straw. This one, nestled against the High Atlas Mountains, is among the most impressive of its kind.
In modern days, it indefinitely quite out of the way – with the closest town of Ourzazate 25 miles away but I learned during our hike to the top of the Kasbah that it used to be on the main caravan route between Marrakesh and the Sahara Dessert which makes more sense. Speaking of hike, I was told we were visiting a town which is why I wore a pretty maxi dress, not really the right clothes for this type of visit – which included a trek across a stream, a dusty climb, and a ladder – so don’t let the pictures fool you. When we visited in early October the Ounila River, which separates the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou from the small city where most residents now live, was running low so we were able to cross it by simply walking across sand bags locals had placed in the flow. Once inside the gates we made our way through narrow alleys and passed crowded houses on our way to the top, surrounded by clay brick the whole time. And even though I am not a Game of Thrones fan, someone had shown me a few of the famous scenes that were filmed there so I made sure to get photos with them. As you scroll you may also recognise the backdrop from dozens of other movies, notably Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Prince of Persia, and Kingdom of Heaven.

Excursions dans le sud du Maroc et dans le desert, decouverte du peuple berbere, stages de darbouka, de cuisine marocaine et de poterie. / Trips in the South of Morocco and in the desert, discovery of Berber culture, workshops of cookery, darbouka drums and pottery.
Along the way to Erg Chegaga and we stoped by Tamgroute. It is used to be an old library and saw the manufacturing of pottery. The guide was very informative, we feel not rush to buy. Well recommended.

I've never been somewhere quite like this before. We had it to ourselves for quite a long time (just us and the taxi driver we had hired for the day). The outside is falling apart but the mosaics inside looked in great condition and were some of the best I've ever seen. Great views from the top too.

Kasbah Amridil is a castle or a fortress of the 17th century, the family owner is Arabic, original from Saudi Arabia, the picture of the kasbah Amridil is on the bank-notes of 50 Dirhams, and it's the kasbah where the famous movies " Ali Baba and the 40 thieves " & " Lawrence of Arabia " were filmed. The guided tours are done with 5 languages: Arabic, French, English, Spanish and Italian.
We visited several different Kasbahs in Morocco. This was the largest and most interesting, e.g. many different spaces/rooms, five towers, one of the earliest with a toilet for women, etc). Fascinating scenery around and a very passionate and extremely knowledgable local guide.

This kasbah was built in the begining of the 16th century in Draa valley, it was the Administrative and Residential kasbah for the Leaders of Mezguita tribe Famous movies was made in this kasbah : The Prince of Persia, Un thé au Sahara, The Mummy, Babel, Les Nouvelles Aventures d'Aladin, Killing Jesus, and Many Others
We didn't stay in the Kasbah but were lucky enough to meet Hassan, and (with a friend of Hassan's) have a tour of the Kasbah. Later Hassan showed us the fields/garden and we also took a cooking class with his family. The Kasbah and surrounding buildings have a rich history, and Hassan is very passionate about the history, restoration and growing many interesting plants, vegetables, herbs, fruits, etc in the fields behind. The Kasbah itself looks wonderful and I would have been happy to stay there. The views from the roof are very impressive. Thank you Hassan for your hospitality and generosity with your time.

It is one of those agadirs (storage fortress) that is worth the side trip. The overall condition is excellent. The walk up the hill is pleasant. The guardian is not very charming but it does not matter. The view from the to of the agadir is worth a few pictures..

From the beach and almost anywhere else by the sea in Agadir. You will see the hill with the three Arabic words written on it,'god, country, king' is the translation. The kasbah sits on top of this hill and offers truely spectacular views of the city and its surroundings. There are the usual pedllers and camel rides available but once you are inside the ancient walls these are left behind. I would suggest going in the evening to experience a sunset as good as anywhere else in the world. The ground is uneven in places so leave your high heels behind. To get there the best option is to get a taxi and have them wait. Agree the rate before going. This is perfectly normal at this location and will see other taxis waiting for their customers. Enjoy .
