Gala is the perfect venue for families and groups who have different preferences when it comes to type of skiing activity as well as level of difficulty. Downhill and cross-country facilities are combined in a unique way, which ensures that every visitor will find a suitable activity. A broad range of additional activities as well as excellent children's clubs are available. The best way for children to learn, is when they are having fun. This is why we have decided to add permanent activities for the youngest children from this year on. Wider slope and better equipped slopes will allow children to play and ski all day long.

Cross-country trail prepared early - often ready by the 1st of November. Flat and gentle terrain, ideal for beginners, technique training and build-up to the season. A perfect roundtrip for families looking for a more extensive skiing experience in the mountains around Gala.
Ideal for beginners and young children enjoying their first skiing experience. The terrain is perfect for anyone training to improve their techniques or just looking for some gentle skiing with the children.
Mountain-peak hike and round-trip - 9–10 km - 2-3 hours. Round-trip along the “Milky Way” - 6km - 2-3 hours. A family-friendly trek to the highest peak in the Fagerhoy area. Spectacular views towards Norway’s most famous peaks in Jotunheimen, Dovrefjell and Rondane. Most of the walk follows the “Milky Way” route. Along the way are 5 mountain dairy farms. The trail is way-marked and of high quality as it is often used by pupils visiting the Gudbrandsdal Outdoor Centre at Fagerhoy. With Fagerhoy as starting point, follow the trail down towards the Peer Gynt Route and Aanekresetra mountain farm. The trail will lead to the “Milky Way” - an old farm road used to collect milk from the 5 dairy farms still located along this route. Follow the trail until you reach Svelle mountain farm, and you will find a sign towards Dordalsknappen. For a less challenging walk, continue along the “Milky Way” as it will lead back to Fagerhoy. The Dordalsknappen trail will take you up to the 1126 metre-high peak offering breathtaking views of the most famous peaks in Norway. To get back down, continue along the trail and down to Hovesetra mountain farm where you can pick up the “Milky Way” leading back to Fagerhoy.
