Transcendence's "Broadway Under The Stars" is a series of award-winning concerts featuring accomplished Broadway and Hollywood performers under the stars in the majestic open-air winery ruins in Sonoma's Jack London State Historic Park. Performers from Broadway and beyond, including artists from The Book Of Mormon, Wicked, Les Miserables, 42nd Street, Hairspray, Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia and more. Each evening begins with pre-show picnicking on the great lawn, alongside the vineyards of the park (with multiple wineries pouring and food and wine available for purchase), and concludes with an evening of inspirational entertainment that Before It’s News dubbed “...goosebumps all around.” Recently named "Theater Of The Year" for the second consecutive year by Broadway World San Francisco and the #2 "Outdoor Concert Venue You Shouldn't Miss" in the United States by USA Today's 10BEST, this concert series offers sensational evenings in wine country you'll never forget.
The Holiday Spectacular 2019 was sooo good, I could have gone back and watched it all over again. The production was wonderfully orchestrated and choreographed. The performers -- every one of them -- brimmed with talent, energy, vitality and project sheer joy at what they're doing. Most fun I've had at a theater event in a long time.

Completed in 1934, the theater, rocking an Italian Renaissance style, was designed by famous architect James W. Reid, who also designed the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego. Movies and other events are still presented here. For its day, it offered the innovation of air conditioning. To my taste, this is one of the most interesting buildings on the Plaza. The never blinking Trixe seems to offer tickets from the classic ticket booth at the entrance 24/7. Definitely worth a walk by, plan to check out the inside for a show if you get a chance.

Not only it has free parking when you pay for an even in it, the size is just enough for an intimate yet party size capable if necessary. No big screens like those big stadiums have for people to see that's seating too far away. Also, the size of the seats are comfortable and good width. I myself went to plenty of events place to watch artists perform so I know the typical 'you have to stand for people to get out of that row' situation. If you buy drinks, unless you also buy the cup with the theater name for $3, then you have to finish it outside. It seems expensive for sure, but if you go here pretty often, it's not that bad and the quality of the cup is pretty reliable. I got a coffee for $2, husband got wine for $9, and I also bought cookies for $3 which we finished easily while waiting for the 2nd set to start.
