A state park and beach recommended for fishing, walking and picnicking.
The stretch from Bodega Bay to Jenner is spectacular, as the road hugs the coastline, highlighted by sea stacks, coves, and endless vistas. Plenty of pull outs for beach stops, with many outfitted with picnic tables to relax and watch the ocean. Take your pick of the beaches, and spend the day in one of the most beautiful places on earth. And, if you are lucky, you could catch a whale or two in season. Just a great place.

A rugged and recommended whale-watching promontory along the California coast.
It’s an easy hike along the top of cliffs with beautiful views of Bodega Bay, the coastline and the tip of Point Reyes Seashore. You need to stop and enjoy the views, there are seals(?) on rocks offshore and swimming, deer grazing and lots of birds. We visited on a windy day and the wind watery strong. Not a hike to rush through, you need to linger.

Challenging windsurfing beach located in Bodega Bay.
This is a great beach. It is easily accessible and gives a great view of Bodega Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the surrounding landscape. The beach is long and the waves are pretty gentle. You can bring your dog, you can surf, or you can just stroll along the flat sand.

The Adventure Buddies went to Goat Rock Beach to explore the beautiful coastline of Sonoma County. On a clear day it is so beautiful the rock formations on the beach and in the ocean with the arches. Great spot you get some beautiful pictures and take a walk along the beach, kayak or relax.

For nearly 100 years, Johnson's Beach has been a Guerneville summer tradition whose beauty, amenities, and hospitality make it a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike. With its spacious stretch of pebble beach and jagged blue skyline of majestic redwoods, it is the ideal spot for lounging and playing along the cool current of the Russian River. Johnson's fun, family-friendly beach has something for everyone. The roped-off kiddie pool allows toddlers and beginning swimmers to enjoy the river safely, and the summer dam provides deeper waters for more adventurous swimmers. For the ultimate in kicking back or playing on the water, inner tubes are our biggest crowd-pleasers. They can be rented for a whole day of floating, spinning, and splashing. We also rent boats for extra river fun and exploration, plus umbrellas and beach chairs so you can recline in shaded comfort. Our snack bar serves affordable traditional summer favorites like burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream. And you can top off your lunch with a frosty cold beer from our Boathouse while kicking back in a beach chair and listening to oldies streaming from the speakers.

Scenic views abound. Watching the ocean waves crash up against the rocks is oddly satisfying. This is a good place to walk. Or, set up your beach chair, and bring a book, if you prefer. Cellular signals are sketchy to non-existent here. Do your research beforehand. WiFi is available a few miles at the Sonoma Visitor’s. Enter. Restrooms are available. No charge to use the beach. Imagine what it was like to be on the stage set of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.” Dress in or brink layers of clothing.
