In Sonoma, you can go wine-tasting… or cheese-tasting… or olive oil-tasting… or just let the chefs of the area’s renowned restaurants put everything together for you. Then burn off some of that good food and wine by hiking or biking through redwood forests.

Thank you for considering Hamel Family Wines during your upcoming Sonoma visit. Each Experience is privately led by a Wine Ambassador, includes a tour, and wine tasting, and can include food pairings. In addition, a “dry” tasting is offered for non-wine drinkers who are enjoying the Experience with others. All tours are appointment only, and are available Thursday through Monday. At Hamel Family Wines, we strive to make great wine and to have fun doing so. We value quality over quantity, enjoyment over tedium and fostering long-term recurring relationships with our guests. We work hard to produce the highest quality wines in limited quantities from grapes grown on our Sonoma Valley and Moon Mountain District estate vineyards. We farm our vineyards with organic and biodynamic practices, always mindful of our role as responsible stewards of the land. We remain grateful for our guests, respectful of our neighbors and appreciative of the fine work that our team performs daily.
I booked the Reserve Experience for my family of four at Hamel Family Wines through their Facebook Messenger. The contact person Rachelle was very prompt with replies. The Reserve Experience combines wine tasting with four dishes of food pairings in the private dining room in their wine cave. The Hamel estate is so beautifully designed and immaculate. We were shown the facilities before settling in for the food and wines. Our guide Zakk told us a lot of information about the architecture (the main building and wine cave are just stunning), wine making process, and anecdotes, in such a funny and cheerful way, which made the experience even more memorable. The food was another highlight. All four dishes were absolutely delicious, more so than some other long established and well known restaurants in the area that we tried. The chef even made his own salt from local sea water. Some herbs were from the small garden in the property. The wines were impressive, so fragrant, too. I'm not much of a wine drinking person, so cannot describe the wine well. However, I absolutely love the whole experience. Special thanks goes to Zakk, the chef, and their team. Highly recommended.

Corner 103 is a winery offering a seated wine and food experience, of 7 award wining wines, in a beautiful corner tasting room on the Sonoma Plaza. Guests at Corner 103 will explore a wine tasting flight of seven wines from different AVA’s located throughout Sonoma County. Six of the seven wines are paired with a small food component to showcase how wine and food work together to bring out the best in each. In addition, guests will learn how to taste wine, what glass it should be served in, and the correct temperature in which it should be served, all while having a fun time with one of our staff! Enjoy the corner views of the Sonoma Plaza from our large windows, sit back, relax and have a good time.
We have been members for several years. Their wines are great and we love Lloyd (the owner) and Brent. They are both very friendly and knowledgeable. We feel like we're visiting friends when we go here. We especially like the wine and cheese pairings (Need to make appointment) This is one of the first places we want to go as soon as we can. We get our quarterly shipment but always order more in between because it's our favorite wine. If you're going to be in Sonoma I definately reccomend going here

Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau is the official source of information on things to see, where to stay and dine in California's wine country region of Sonoma Valley. Our friendly staff are experts on tours, restaurants and itineraries for your visit. Call, email or come in and ask us a question. Get free maps, guides and tasting passes.
Upon arriving in new area first thing we do is go to visitor center to make sure we have enough information to ensure we see everything possible. Our volunteer, Gail, was great. We got information of Sonoma Valley-area maps, what to expect in all little towns, and good eating suggestions. Gail really knew the area well. Thank you Gail we really appreciated your time and information.

A recommended wine-tasting venue in Sonoma Valley.
What a beautiful venue! We stopped by here too late in the afternoon to enjoy all of the grounds, but it was still a lovely stop. We were interested in just white wines, and they were all fantastic. I enjoyed the Chardonnay that we tried, but was most impressed with the Albariño. Yum.

We are open by reservation Mon-Sun 11-5:30pm. As the oldest family-owned winery in California, we specialize in making distinctive estate-grown wines and sharing them and our property in a warm, fun, unpretentious manner.
This was our first stop on our self guided wine tours. Beautiful grounds. The staff was awesome. Explained the wines and made recommendations. We took our wine and walked all over the property. Very nice day here!
