Pulteney Bridge

One of only three bridges in the world lined with shops, this exquisite 18th-century bridge is one of the most admired structures in Bath.

For those who are familiar with the film Les Miserables in which Javert, played by Russell Crowe, jumped to his death, will be delighted to discover that the bridge of Javert's demise is actually located in Bath . It is, I suggest, best approached via the toe path along the river. As you round the bend the bridge springs into view. If you continue to the bridge, you can ascend the stairs and emerge on the bridge to discover a wide range of interesting shops and cafes. Well worth exploring, without the need to visit Paris.

The Frome Independent

Frome is a beautiful town with cobbled streets, lots of independent shops and several hills! It has frequent markets and is well served by theatres and cinemas. I didn’t try out any restaurants so can’t comment on them. I should imagine it will be lovely at Christmastime. Well worth a visit.

As a local, I find the market a terrific place to get lots of my day to day shopping done. I particularly like Nibbles Cheese which has a fantastic range plus lots of other goodies - ham, bacon, sausages, chutney etc. The service is terrific!Over at the Deli you can get great cakes, scotch eggs, pasties, again with great service. The hardware store sells practically everything! The second hand books selection is amazing. Great choice at the sweet shop. The best Turkish Delight! Lots of other great things to see too!

Always enjoy going to this boot sale, as a lot of good bargains, if you know what you are looking for and don’t mind haggling a bit. We have also bought some very reasonably priced plants and veg. Would recommend but before you bring a dog, check the site policy, as dogs are not allowed, thankfully and it will save you leaving a negative comment cause you couldn’t be bothered to check the policy.
