I don't take superlatives lightly, so when I say this was the most incredible beach I've seen, it must be a special place. The beach is a long sand bar of fine white sand and a bunch of adorable crabs. This sandbar reaches over a lagoon where you can watch seawater spill into at high tide. There's loads of curious creatures in this mini ecosystem. The Sea water is crystal clear in shades of blue and turquoise. These is a rock overlook that should be climbed for the most sweeping view over it all. In October, the water temperature was so easy to swim and float in. There is no coral or seaweed here so it's also easy to walk right in with bare feet. An added bonus of this special place is that we were the only people there! There is no shade on the sandbar so load up on water and sunscreen before you head out as it's a bit of a walk to access vehicles and gear again.

The sand dunes at Delisha Beach are the curious attraction here. Towering up the side of a cliff face, the summer storms blow sand up from the beach to form these massive slopes. Throughout the winter, they are slowly eroded away back to the sea. The sand is quite compact, though difficult to climb - it's a good challenge to reach the top. The way down is much faster, but it's not so easy to glissade down the dunes unless someone has broken the way and softened the sand. We camped two nights on the beach here. There is a fresh water stream to clean up in after a nice afternoon swimming and body surfing in the Sea. And the stars at night are something to marvel at!
