An excellent tour visiting Isola and Piran. Both beautiful and worth visiting. Our guide Petra knew lots of interesting things that made the trip enjoyable and worthwhile. She was also well tuned into the particular needs and interests of the group. What it did not say on the booking was the trip had a local wine, olive oil and meat and cheese tasting. That was an added bonus. So a great trip, a great guide and good company with the others on the trip.

Come with us and visit the Lipizzaner farm known for its world-famous Lipizzaner horses. Enjoy the performance of the Spanish riding school, visit Lipica stud farm and try one of the best local Slovenian food "prsut" ham and delicious teran wine. Karst region is famous for its caves, the bora wind, the red soil, and most importantly, its cuisine. There is no prosciutto in the world as tender and delicious as the Karst prsut, dried in the cellars of the old Karst villages with the help of the strong, cold bora winds. Discover charming traditional karst village Štanjel where most of the buildings originate from 16th and 17th centuries and explore the castle and Ferrari’s beautiful garden.  Your first stop will be a charming village Štanjel. Karst Plateau is a region of Slovenia that extends from the Vipava valley to the Gulf of Trieste. The limestone allowed the water to enter the underground and thus created typical karst features - caves, chasms, karst springs, intermittent lakes, and karst fields. Discover the village Štanjel and admire its beautiful castle and Ferrari's amazing garden, the best-known attraction of the village. Karst is also famous for its cuisine, so the next part of the visit is reserve for local cuisine tasting in a small traditional village. The most famous local food of Karst region is delicious "prsut" ham. There is no prosciutto in the world as tender and delicious as the Karst prsut, dried in the cellars of the old Karst villages with the help of the strong, cold bora winds. It is best tasted with its rightful companion, teran wine, a local specialty unique to the region. The wine comes from refosco grapes grown in the fertile red soils of the Karst.  Continue the visit towards Lipica Stud Farm, home of the world-renowned Lipizzaner horses, made famous by the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. You will have the chance to see these elegant horses in training for the performances. The Lipica Stud Farm is nowadays one of the most beautiful cultural and historical monuments in Slovenia, its rich history reaching back to the year 1580.

The full day was great in whole. The caves are beautiful-definitely a sight you should see. There were a lot of students on trips but it's fine because you get put into a group with your own language guide. Horses are breathtaking and the history is interesting I wish we went on a day where the horses were "working" meaning you could ride them. We went on a Monday so that is the resting day for the Lipica horses-they train and trot all other days. Despite that, we had a lovely tour of the farm and interacted with the horses in their stables and learned about these unique majestic creatures. Pick up and drop off was right on time - car was comfortable and our guide found a good place for us to have lunch before taking us back into Trieste

The Slovenian coast is small but endearingly charming. This is the best day trip to visit the highlights of the Slovenian coast and its hinterland. Spend a day uncovering the scenic, cultural and historical delights of the Slovenian coast. Take in panoramic views of the Bay of Trieste from the clifftop Socerb Castle and see the famous Dance of Death fresco at Hrastovlje’s Church of the Holy Trinity. Then, wander the salt flats. The last part of the tour is reserved for the most picturesque coastal town Piran and historical town Koper. In Piran you can walk through its narrow medieval streets wedged between beautiful houses, churches and squares and enjoy a "gelato" or a cup of coffee on the main square named after Giuseppe Tartini.

Inclusions: Central Ljubljana pickup and drop-off, Comfortable transport by air-conditioned minivan, Professional English speaking guide

Exclusions: Admission fees, meals and personal expenses., Admission options:, Hrastovlje church: 3 € per person, Marezige wine fountain, Piran city wall: 2 € per person
