We had to use Google maps and the All Trails app to find this gem of a hike but it was worth it. This is the only Natural Bridge in the area that still has water flowing under it. The waterfall is also fun. All Trails rated this as a moderate hike and I agreed with the assessment.

We did the Double Arch trail, then Auxier Branch trail to Courthouse Rock, then took the Auxier Ridge trail back to the parking lot. It was an epic hike. Probably around 7 miles total. Lots of ups and downs and climbing. Took us about 5 hours to complete the loop. Not for the faint of heart. Take plenty of water and snacks. Hiking boots are a must to protect ankles while walking over rocks and tree roots. So beautiful from the vistas looking out from the top of the ridges to the lush, moss-covered terrain in the gorge. It was a long hike but worth it.

Features a great natural sandstone arch that stands over the mountain.
How do so many people in Kentucky not know about this place? So many people travel to the same old vacation destinations such as Gatlinburg, Tennessee, or the beach at Gulf Shores, Alabama, or Panama City, Florida. This place is a jewel. It offers several hiking trails, the views are beautiful, and the lodge and grounds are well-maintained and impressive. This state park even includes a chair lift! Give this place a try if you haven't been.

My best friend and I just spent the weekend in the Whip-Poor-Will cabin while rock climbing and hiking in this area. I can not say enough about how clean this cabin was! The owners did a wonderful job making the small spaces incredibly functional and convenient while also maintaining a natural environment. The beds were comfortable and everything worked without issue. We hiked the property which was beautiful and loved the seclusion of this location while also being so close to all the amazing places in this area. I will definitely be back to the RRG and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here!

The gift shop is where we purchased our tickets for the sky lift-a very enjoyable peaceful ride up the mountain to the natural bridge. The shop has quality t-shirts and sweatshirts along with a variety of gifts, for children and adults. Very nice!

There are few reptile collections that can compare to the diversity of animals on display at the Kentucky Reptile Zoo. Animals on exhibit range from an 18 foot reticulated python, our largest resident, to many types of venomous snakes such as cobras, mambas, cottonmouth, copperheads, taipans and rattlesnakes, to an American Alligator. One of the favorite areas for kids is our Turtle Tracks Area, where both tortoises and aquatic turtles can be seen. Live reptile shows at 1, 3 and 5pm.
The exhibit was well organized. The guides were very knowledgeable. The reptiles were all identified by the area where they live and information about the lengths they can grow to were posted on each aquarium. Some of the reptiles were very active. I would go again!
